We traveled as part of a group for my birthday for one night to relive my days as a student and go back to Swansea!
The outside of the hotel is rather run down which is a shame as the inside could not be more different.
The reception area is clean and there is a bar, cafe and ice-cream area.
Our rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were lovely and clean with a huge mirror which didnt steam up and although an odd thing to comment on, the carpet was lovely and soft, all of us now want one in our house!
The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive and didn't seem to mind that we were a gruop of 9 girls who would be drinking and possibly making a lot of noise
I would definitely recommend this hotel to groups but maybe not for couples

Exceptionally convenient for the railway station, and not far from the rugby ground. No noise at all from the railway, but suffers from the passing drunks on the way to and from wherever they get drunk. I'd ask for a room that wasn't on the street side.

But ... my room had the best and most powerful shower I have ever experienced. A real man's shower that scoured my scalp and nearly flattened me against the cubicle wall. I'll go back again just for that. Have stayed several times before but usually on higher floors where I haven't noticed the nightlife.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and a superb breakfast.

Room Tip: Avoid low level on the street side.

Stayed here for one night to watch a soccer game. The hotel is immediately opposite the railway station, with the local buses to the stadium stopping in front of the hotel.
The room was adequate with comfortable beds. Unfortunately the Air con was not working and signs on the windows asked that they not be opened. This resulted in a stuffy and overheated room. The breakfast was not a strong point as the coffee machine was not working, even at 9.30 and little choice available for breakfast at that time.
Staff were friendly and efficient.

I stayed for a couple of nights.
Bit far from the centre of town, but walk-able.
Nice clean & tidy room & a huge & well cooked breakfast. I didn't try the dinning room apart from that as I ate in town, but it looked like a nice quality menu.
Bar busy & friendly but a tad on the expensive side.
Excellent location as far as the train station was concerned.
I would certainly stay again when in Swansea.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for 1 night as part of a family holiday. The hotel was bright, clean and looked like it was recently refurbished. Located opposite the train station, this is not the quietest or best part of town. There is overnight paid parking at the station car park next door.

The room was small, but clean, as was the bathroom. Flat-screen TV, tea/coffee-making facilities and free WiFi were nice, as these can no longer be taken for granted at similar hotels of this standard. The room was slightly warm, and not being able to the windows was slightly inconvenient (there is air conditioning). Staff were efficient and friendly. Overall, a very good option for a short stay in Swansea, especially if you are travelling by train.

Room Tip: Rooms at the end of the corridor are quieter.

Not bad for one nights stay. Good price too. The room was clean but a little small and very very warm. A/C didnt cool the room down at all and the windows wont open. Lovely looking building close to town and the train station. Would stay here again as its cheap and cheerful an cclose to town.

Room Tip: See if you can get a room with the A/C working
