Unfortunately this museum was really let down by lack of investment. It should also be noted that a lot of th e reviews here seem to be for the National Waterfront Museum, rather than the Swansea Museum. The location is pretty easy to find an they seem to be doing some serious work outside which will improve the approach. Just hope they move inside and sort out the dated displays. I will give them that the converted library space was well done and some other local authority museums could take note.

Thank Jeremy K

I don't think many people realise how important Swansea and this museum is to the world of science and the invention of Photography. What else is of major interest is that the change and understanding what happened to Swansea can not really be seen that much anymore in the valleys: The National Waterfront is great but vast and hard to get to grips with what happened to Swansea it's self. The museum gives a great view and there are fab prints and painting of what happened to this fascinating city!

Located on the waterfront in Swansea, this museum gives an insight into Swansea and broader Welsh life over the ages. It is very welcoming, staff are hugely friendly and there is loads to see.
The cafe is OK & the shop has some good local/Welsh gifts.

You can also get a part refund on your car park ticket.

A great museum with lots of local history and more. Interesting things to see and do with hands on activities that I was well impressed with.

The Robin Goch (plane) is in the Waterfront Museum. Sorry to be pedantic. Just padding now to get 100 characters!
