I stayed there last September while looking for accommodation in Swansea. A hole in the ceiling kept the room cool..so there is no need for air conditioned...The bed linen...I was lucky I had my sleeping bag..avoid it..there are many other choices along the road.

Booked 2 en-suite rooms the night before. When we turned up there was 1 en-suite and one single shared bathroom (mine). Only found this out after we had paid and I went to my room. Not particularly bothered when I complained and no other rooms available. The single pane glass makes the room noisy from the busy road. I heard a lot of angry swearing from one of the guests, along with slamming doors. There is no bedside lamp. The hallways are dark. The bed sheet is paper thin. There are no toiletries. The worst place I have ever had the unfortunate 'pleasure' of staying in. on the plus side the bar and meal downstairs is ok, but the toilets were out of soap. Hey Ho, we learn by our mistakes

Did not try the pub but booked a single room here. First you are above a pub so I expected noise, however not to the extent you could hear every word of every song on the top floor. Second if you are on the front the single pane window that would not close tightly will let you hear every single car well into the small hours. Third would like not to have wall paper coming off wall, fourth, bedding that does not look like it has seen better days in 2003 let alone 2013. Finally seems they have long term visitors who spend their time swearing in the adjacent room and using the shared bathroom as if it were their own. If this were a very basic price and I mean low I could accept it, but there are better places for the same price and for 10 pound more you could get a saver travel lodge room. Pub do not want to do a disservice and might be fine, and maybe it's just the single room they don't bother much with, but, if you can avoid this as a single traveller or ask to see the room first and make you mind up.

Haven't stayed at the hotel but know friends who have & not one had a bad review of the rooms. Lovely home cooked food, excellent entertainment in the nights & cheap drinks! Lovely location, beach just across the road and town within walking distance.
