Stayed at this lovely friendly hotel for a family wedding, We stayed in one of their coach house rooms for the first night which was very nice albeit noisy at night, but on the second night we stayed in the actual hotel itself which was amazing, the room was very spacious clean and great quality, had iron/ironing board, hair dryer, mini bar, tea coffee facilities, an amazing bathroom and molton brown products, very luxurious. Staff are extremely friendly and nothing is to much trouble, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: rooms in the actual hotel are quieter albeit cost a lot more but well worth it

We had a Family birthday to celebrate and booked a large number of rooms in Morgans on a Saturday in late December thinking it would be the ideal place to use as our meeting point as we gathered from all parts of the UK and Swansea. We have stayed at Morgans in the past, but in some ways its success as a hotel conflicts with its success as a quality bar attracting large numbers of non residents, and the two don't necessarily mix well. The main Bar/ Lounge is normally a large comfortable space, but on the late Saturday afternoon we met there it was full of large parties of non residents and bore closer resemblance to a large pub than a luxury hotel. Depending on your point of view it was either vibrant and atmospheric or unbelievably noisy with no room to sit or chat. There is a small residents "lounge", consisting of some café style tables and chairs which was completely overwhelmed by demand, and we, as a mixed aged group of young children, adults and OAP's, had to mix it with the throng, it wasn't the most pleasant hour or so, the children and oap's never heard so many swear words, not a place for the faint hearted!.
We had the Eagle Room in the town house across the street from the main hotel, which is a spacious twin double bedded family room with a big shower-room. Morgans has always prided itself on its attention to detail, but this room, which is up a flight of awkward stairs from the lift on the second floor in the eaves of the roof, not easy to access if you have lots of kids paraphernalia and luggage, leaves a lot to be desired. The room has only three small velux type roof windows, no big deal in the middle of a dark wet Welsh December day, but if staying in the spring and summer it could feel dark and closterphobic with no outlook. The old wooden bedroom furniture was also badly marked and scratched (perhaps they were designer stressed and we missed the point) and strangely out of place in a modernist space, the beds and bedding though were first class.
The 08.00 to 10.00am Sunday Breakfast time was also a little draconian, most hotels have 10.30 or even 11.00 last orders on weekends, we were told they had to clear up for lunch?, and brought a disappointing stay to a disappointing end.
The Hotel is not ideal for a family gathering, its public spaces are just not suitable, it desperately needs a proper residents lounge because, as it currently stands on weekends, its just a big comfortable, hugely busy pub with some nice bedrooms. The Hotels ethos seems to at odds with itself, is it a luxurious boutique hotel offering high standards of comfort and service or the meeting point for groups of revellers getting ready to party the night away in nearby Wind Street? I think the benefit of the income from the latter will be detrimental to the former unless change is made in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding our hotel. At Morgans we appreciate all feedback as we are continually looking for ways to improve our customer experience.

We are very sorry that you found the bar so loud and busy - the December Christmas parties were out in full force that Saturday. I am concerned that you found the residents' lounge was also too busy and we will certainly look at giving our residents a larger dedicated room in the future.

Your comments regarding the hours for breakfast have also been noted and will be looked at for the New Year.

We very much appreciate your recommendations and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

I visit Swansea on a regular basis and have tried a different hotel on each occasion but I have finally found one that I would be happy to return too. The location is perfect for Swansea town centre and the marina without being too noisy and there is parking available outside the front door. Each room is individual and you can choose your room online. We stayed in the Rajah of Sarawak which was extremely comfortable and beautifully presented. Breakfast was first class and the atmosphere in the bar was lively. My one and only gripe was as we visited during December there was only a Christmas menu available and a little more choice would have been appreciated as we had booked to eat in the restaurant at lunchtime and in the evening. The food was very good though and we thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. I don't know why this hotel doesn't rank higher on trip adviser as I have stayed at other hotels higher ranked and they don't come anywhere near the standard of this hotel.

Room Tip: You can look online and see detailed information about each room before making your choice.

Was treated to a night away for my birthday. First impreasion from the car park was very high. Thankfully the hotel and its staff carried this forward. We were greeted straight away at the reception where a polite gentleman then took our bags and showed us to our room. The standard of the room was great, and the ensuite was one of the best ive seen. We did not have dinner in the hotel as we went our for some cocktails.. but we went for breakfast the next morning which was amazing, the best smoked salmon and scrambled egg weve ever had. Will definately stay here again.

Stayed one night recently whilst working in Swansea. The room was comfortable, warm, clean and cosy. Bed and duvet great, but the pillows were very empty! The bathroom was stylish, with Molton Brown products. Good water pressure in the shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Free parking. Good location for restaurants and shops. We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was a bit on the expensive side and mostly Christmas fare, so we popped over the road where there are loads of eating places. All in all, a good stay and would certainly return.

Stayed overnight following a work Christmas meal. The room was excellent. Spotless and tastefully furnished. Bed very comfortable. Mini bar in room with reasonably priced items...although it was strangely located in a wardrobe along with the tea making facilities - strange ! Fab shower and bath ...but the shower gel was fixed to the wall and the height was more suited to a six foot man than a 5ft woman ! Also a pet peeve of mine , no hand attachment to the shower so the usual gymnastic contortions needed ! Breakfast choice was extensive - fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, toast (fabulous bread) , range of condiments...smoked salmon and kippers in addition to the usual cooked breakfast. Coffee served at table , but needed to request refills from staff who were busy taking orders, clearing tables and serving food - would be nice to have the coffee more freely available. Only one odd moment - during breakfast I went to use the bathroom and got a very frosty reception from the cleaner who just said in response to my query 'am I ok to use the toilets?' 'it's wet' leaving me none the wiser ! When I said 'ok' she positively glared at me and ordered me to use the disabled toilet which I could not find !

Room Tip: we stayed in Merlin in the townhouse annex. No street noise at all
