An outstanding family hotel, with an excellent ambience. Probably the most hospitable venue that I have visited. (And have visited hundreds!). Nothing was too much trouble for mine hosts--Heino & Lynn.
The rooms were tastefully decorated, very comfortable, and quiet. Moreover, the Welsh breakfasts were perfect!
It has 4*, but this rating is an underestimate in all categories.

A quant, comfortable, quiet, spacious, and charming little hotel. I would highly recommend the Alexander Hotel to anyone who wanted good old fashioned service, and charm.
The owner was delightful, breafast a treat, and the rooms terrific. The only downside was the street scape, the neighbours seemed to throw rubbish everywhere, this is obviously beyond control of hotel management, but the council needs to have a good look at these people. Oh a word of warning, DO NOT go to the chinese resteraunt next to pub, it is disgusting food.

We recieved a warm, friendly welcome on arrival at the Alexander. The room was immaculate, well planned and comfortable and breakfast was fantastic!! We stayed for 3 nights and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. After 2 nights in the lovely lounge/bar Heino (the owner) felt more like an old friend than the hotelier! "A little Gem" would be our description of this hotel...we'll be back!

Stayed one night in THE ALEXANDER and loved the place. Quiet room with good bed, really delicious breakfast, had nice chats with the wonderful hosts. We felt very much at ease! The house is located in a nice area with restaurants and bars, so very easy to go for a drink or a nice meal before going to bed!

The room was small - but so was the price. Situated out of town (Uplands) on a busy road on the way to the Gower, but with bus stops nearby. Own bathroom down the hall. Breakfast (vegetarian) was great, including two Quorn sausages and all the trimmings (no laverbread thankfully!). Above all you get the personal touch from friendly host Heino.

Very comfortable hotel/B&B in the Uplands area of Swansea. First impressions were very good, and the stay was very pleasant indeed.

Room: Good modern trendy decor, fairly spacious, sea view, good bed, small flat screen TV with full Freeview channel set

Overall: Nice communal lounge/bar area with comfy sofas, breakfast included (made to order), very friendly and helpful staff, free parking on the road about 30m away, in the main student area so lots of pubs, restaurants and shops, 15 min walk from university campus, about 15/20 minute walk into the town centre.

Good: Friendly staff, well equipped rooms, location, breakfast, comfortable bed, ensuite bathroom, biscuits and hot drink facilities in the room.

Not so good: Shower pressure was awful, cramped bathroom (to be expected as it is a converted townhouse), noisy seagulls.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Swansea.

The Alexander is an excellent bed and breakfast situated close to the University and with sea views. The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious with plenty of good facilites - television with digital channels, lots of storage, hairdryer, free internet, tea and coffee etc. The bathroom was very clean with a big shower which was hot if not that powerful. Breakfast was very good - plenty of choice of cereals, fruit etc and very tasty cooked food.
