“Stylish, Easy access, World class place to De-stress - Gower mwah!”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

The Gower. My most favourite place in the whole universe to do a fabulous and rapid de stress. It can be as fancy or basic as you wish, caveman or princess you will find your peace here. And, it's soo close to Swansea - bonus! and, therefore the M4 corridor, a little bit of heaven on earth. Just being there breathing in the sea air and atmosphere is as good as any spa day, when I need a fix whatever the season or weather it pulls me back in all ways. I love it from the Mumbles round to Penclawdd and everything in between. Its a low key well managed quiet farming area and reminds me of the countryside I grew up in Norfolk in the 60's and 70's where there were big verges, hedges, wet areas, frogs, newts, snakes, hedgehogs and amazing beaches. Winter is my favourite time for big moody skies, crisp clear light, deserted beaches, big seas and beach combing, log fires and a warm welcome. Try it, throw off modern day expectations, designer shoes and spare tyre worries and get down and dirty with the Gower landscape, try walking and breathing in the atmosphere and sea air, make some peace with yourself, get some red cheeks and a healthy glow, don't worry about broken fingernails, targets and lists, just be. Come on down and feel the vibe, it's a good place to be, leave all the electronics and communication systems behind, just come and be yourself and remember a time when life was a lot less demanding. Oh and don't forget a bucket and spade plenty of sand there to build fabulous sand castles. Dip your toes in the water you won't regret it. Dogs are welcome too, I just lurve it there and could wax lyrical about it forever.

“Stunning scenery and beaches”

Disappointed with The Mumbles. Further west was less built up and more beautiful. There was no free parking at any of the bays we visited

“Breathtaking!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Gower is a real gem, with so many beautiful beaches. Rhossili is awesome, and if you get the chance to walk to Worms Head, when the tide goes out it is well worth it. A bit arduous in parts, but you are rewarded with a sense of euphoria when you make it. It was on my bucket list and at 64 I finally made the walk - fabulous!

“Everything you could ever want.”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

We were staying on Swansea waterfront, and Swansea itself can be very bustling and busy. However as soon as you drive out onto the Gower everything changes. The scenery is stunning and you have to reduce your speed to negotiate the winding country lanes. I was amazed to find moorland in various parts, and was also surprised to find dozens of wild horses and ponies. There are countless long sandy beaches and lovely cafes and public houses. If you love walking, or have brought your dogs on holiday with you, there are miles and miles of woodland or seaside walks to last you for a lifetime.
