I stayed just the one night during May during and i couldn't really find any faults.

Its well signposted and brilliantly situated for Swansea City Center, I had a King room overlooking the Marina and was more then impressed. The room set me back £140.00 but included breakfast, welcome fruit pack on arrival and late check out at 12 in the afternoon.

The aim of my evening was to mostly get smashed with some uni buddies in wine street so i forgoed the restaurant which looked quite adequate & pretty much headed straight out after checking in.

The main requirement was a comfy bed. The bed in my room was huge and very comfortable.
which aided in sleeping off my hangover the next day.

overall a step above any premier inn or travellodge but please dont expect a 5 star luxury hotel with ball rooms and black tie events.

Room Tip: room 317 has a lovely view of the marina.

We don't live far from Swansea but decided to have a break and booked quite a good Friday night B&B deal as a couple at the swansea Marriott. This was the first time I had stayed there thought I have been there for a function.

There is free car parking and the welcome was efficient and friendly, with a young receptionist who spoke both Welsh and English fluently.

Our room was large, pleasant and well-equipped, and the staff readily provided additional tea and coffee when asked. There was a nice view of Swansea marina.

We didn't eat at the hotel but had a very good meal at La Brasseria restaurant in Wind Street. This street is packed with trendy bars but my favourite stops on this particular evening were a traditional dockland pub -the Queens Hotel- nearby, and the classy Morgans Hotel.

Breakfast was a good buffet, and we took advantage of the Mariott's seafront position to walk along the promenade and beach. We couldn't resist going to the bar at the top of the Meridian Tower -apparently Wales's highest building- next to the hotel for a coffee and stunning views in all directions including Gower and Devon.

We were well-refreshed after our short break.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room with a sea view.

This is the second time we have stayed here and we enjoyed our stay. The staff were polite and helpful. The room was spacious with two large double beds. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant which was very good value and the breakfast the next day was excellent. We celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary and also picked up our son up from university as he has completed his first year at Swansea university.

The young Blond Male receptionist (nick i think), was just about the rudest receptionist i have ever met, gave me a terrible room, which i changed within 5 minutes, on check out i stood at reception quietly waiting to check out, Nick was playing with the card machine did not look up or acknowledge that i was there (even the young lady behind the desk, although dealing with someone else, did not acknowledge that i was there), but, when the phone range he answered it!!!!!, whilst i was still standing there!, both myself and my colleague were appalled. if this is the type of reception you get, why on earth would you want to know what the rest of the service is going to be like. Shocked and appalled at the lack of manners. The room was ok, as was the breakfast. Marriott management take note!

Room Tip: dont take room 216, it has a noise in the bathroom, like a lawn mower starting up.

We stayed at the Marriott for our Xmas dinner dance, the hotel was lovely and so were the staff, but the food was the worst food we've ever had, it was a Xmas 3 course meal, the starter of pâté was disgusting, the main meal was turkey one tiny thin slice( not enough to feed a child) the roasties soggy and frozen veg, it really couldn't have been worse, the dessert was sickly cheap profiteroles, total waste of money, so we will not be going back for our Xmas dinner dance this year! The only good thing about it was the entertainment and the breakfast! I wouldn't go back if they offered it to me free of charge!

I've been staying here regularly for a number of years and I am always impressed with the way standards have been maintained to a high level. Friendly, professional staff, immaculately clean and well equipped rooms and good quality, nicely presented food !
The hotel is very conveniently placed for the town, marina and the esplanade, and has a large secure car park.
For me, it's the ONLY place to stay when visiting Swansea !
