this used to be one of the best places for an indian in Swansea. Not sure whats happened of late. They have refurbished and reinvented themselves a few times but the service has just gone downhill so much that I had to write this. visited here with group of fourteen last month. we had made a reservation but that did not stop us from having to wait a while for our table on arrival! the food was not really that impressive, had to get the rice re heated twice before we could eat it. The onion Bhajis too were cold. I felt they must have used their lunchtime food on us. to make matters worse when the bill came we were overcharged for drinks we had not even had. the service staff seemed really unfriendly. not one of them had a smile. used to enjoy eating here. Not anymore. so many nicer places on the same road.

I went to Anarkali on Saturday night at around 8pm.
It was very busy and took the staff a while to seat us. we booked the table for 8pm and didn't get seated until around 8:25 which was quite disappointing.
The staff were quite helpful and the food was nice.
there were 18 of us at our table and after we all finished our meals everybody said their food was lovely.
My friends also got served for alcohol which was quite shocking as they are not 18. So if you want to go there and buy alcohol and you're not 18 then I suggest you go there.

Called into the Anarkali on a Sunday night in October at around 10:00 pm. There were no other customers at all, and the staff reacted as if they had been hoping to close up and go home until we walked in. In all fairness, the service wasn't too bad at all, just a bit indifferent.

Decent menu with all the usual suspects plus a good selection of chef's specials. All four of us had popadoms and a starter, which were generally OK, although the Shami kebabs were a bit dry and bland. The main courses, ranging from Chicken Biryani to Chicken Tikka Masalla and Chilli Chicken Balti were quite pleasant, although not the best Indian we've ever had. With some bottles of Kingfisher and a few glasses of red wine the bill for the four of us was only £75, which I call a right bargain.

We would consider visiting the Anarkali again, but we've been to the Maharani next door, and to be honest we prefer that.
