Read all the reviews before booking this hotel i was apprehensive but decided to give it a try we picked up the room swipe card from the supermarket as no one on reception the room was nice clean and comfortable.and just a short drive to lots of lovely beaches all was going well until returning from a day out on our 3rd night the swipe card for the door would not let us in we rang the contact number that was on the door several times we sent texts but no one answered a few guests did try and help us but there was no one we could contact to hellp us,so i went over to the houses opposite and luckily a lady knew someone who worked there she took me to the ladies house and she rang wayne who luckily had the store keys and came in 20 mins to let us in we were outside for 2 hrs because someone had only loaded 2 nights instead of 3 .

Room Tip: Rooms at front noisy and view of supremarket car park .

The Gower hotel was an excellent stop over for the two nights we spent investigating the fabulous gower beaches. The room was huge, very clean and beautifully decorated. We were allowed to take our dalmatian with us and she thought the grass area right by the hotel leading down to the water was great! the bed was extremley comfortable and the white cotton sheets were very cool to sleep in. We had to pick up the key from the shop but the staff in there were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The rooms facing towards the back have a much better view.

August 2013 .Looks like nothing changed since 2009. We spent three nights here this month and yes you are on your own. When we called to confirm booking we heard a message saying ' you can not leave a message 'So when we arrived we just hoped that all would be ok. Thankfully it was and we followed the instructions on the door and went into the Supermarket below the apts to get our key. The young man was very friendly I have to say.It was 12:30 pm and the smell from the café in the supermarket was disgusting! The fat they were using must of been so old. There's no way we'd have eaten in there. The lift is still not working or maybe that's just a ploy to make sure people don't use it as there is no staff or receptionist in case of an emergency! The stairs are filthfy and the hallway a little smelly. The rooms are indeed huge and could be amazing but cleanliness is not great! The carpet didn't looked like it had been hovered for some time and there was spilt dried on milk all over one of the lovely brown leather armchairs. Such a shame. Bed was comfy but pillows not great. The television and small fridge are a plus. The bathroom was huge and high spec but unfortunately only cleanish and I had to clean it myself with some anti bac wipes. Also the plug in the sink was broken. We never had our room serviced during our entire stay so had to buy tea, milk toilet paper etc...and make our own beds which is not a problem but I expect more for £69:00 a night. The owners of these apt just needs to put a little more thought into what the paying customer requires and do some spotchecks on the cleanliness of the entire block .The place could be absolutely fantastic with a bit more TLC. The area is run down but we found it a good location for our trip. Don't be too put off by my review but be prepared for all of the above. I hope the owner reads my review but I doubt he will as the same issues seem to still be occurring 4 years on.......

Room Tip: Don't go ground floor .

Stayed recently for 2 nights over a weekend. The hotel a positioned above CK's supermarket in Penclawdd, which is a good stop off point in North Gower for provisions. The supermarket also has a cafe which is good for breakfast as it is not provided at the hotel. The rooms are huge, cleanish and modern (there were some hairs in the bath and the tiled floor had a few smears where it has been cleaned). The room had a mini fidge, iron/ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen television. The bed was 2 singles together and it was very comfortable. The temperature of the room was very good and the room was very light and airy. The only negative things I would say about the room/hotel is that there is a strong smell of a TCP or similar smell every time we entered the room and when we enterered the hotel there was a strong smell of stale fat and cooking fumes from the cafe next door (could do with sorting their vents out).
The hotel was very quiet and I think to increase the profile of the hotel it would be good if they had someone who answered their telephone and you were able to book online with them. I tried to contact the hotel numerous times and there is also no answer machine facilities. The reception area also appeared closed and we had to collect our keys from the supermarket. The other thing I noticed was that the elevator did not appear to be working so if you have disability I would check before booking. On the whole I would recommend staying there and would stay again.

Had 2 nights here a few weeks ago and having lived in the area many years ago i was a little apprehensive about its location. The rooms are spacious and clean, i would however ask for a room in the main building as they seem much quieter.

Room Tip: Room in the main building away from the road

Having travelled down from Conway, we were struggling to find somewhere so were delighted to find one room here. This is just somewhere to rock up and have a really good nights sleep. Clean, well furnished, very comfortable bed, good bathroom facilities. Information available regarding local restaurants and pubs. Very nice surprise and just what we needed
