£50 to play the 2010 midweek, winter deal. Looked great on paper, even better when you get there - met and the gate, clubs taken to the first tee. Locker for the day, then down to the tee, have a practice on the range/green etc. Then make a start.
Given the rain we've had the course was in remarkable condition and it's so good to play at places that you've seen on the TV.
Course marshal stopped a few times for a chat, just to make sure all was well.
Made to feel very special all day, and won a free round on on of the other courses!
Could not fault the service and for that alone I'd go back.

We took our 3 children aged 7,5,2 to Christmas Kingdom on sat 22nd. It cost 15 each so 45 in total. The waiting area was draped in white sheets and two reindeer were asleep in a pen but you couldn't get close to them. They had elf to watch on a small TV screen while you waited and that was it. We had to wait in this cold room for about 25 minutes. We had about 2 mins with a very Welsh santa with a fake beard and we had to prompt him to ask our kids questions. We weren't even allowed to take a photo. We were then charged a extra £5 to buy a photo which we had to do otherwise we wouldn't have a photo of our kids to look back on in future years. Also the gifts were really poor and worth about £2 each, small jigsaws for my eldest two and a bath fishing net for my youngest. We then went ice skating which was too small and very wet, it hadn't rained it just wasn't frozen enough. They also had very cheap ice skates with laces rather than the clips that all other Ice skating venues in the local area have. It then did rain so we only managed 25 mins of our 45 minutes slot. At this point I heard one of the workers say people can rebook if they complain but it's fully booked so they can't really but that is what he had to tell people. I won't even waste my breath mentioning the 3.30 for a cup of tea that we had to pay for in between as that is part of the hotel not Christmas Kingdom. Overall a very expensive and disappointing experience. We don't mind paying money if you feel you get a good experience but this really wasn't. I would not recommend this anyone.
