“Golf Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

This is a fantastic golf resort. The courses were in immaculate condition even during a cold and wet spring. The staff are very friendly and professional. We played the Montgomerie course which was a challenging layout, very glad we chose buggies for the hills! The following day we played the Twenty Ten course and that was a fantastic experience having been to see the 2010 Ryder Cup. Certainly a very good test of golf!

“Worth the test”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

The 2010 course is a challenge, but to recall the Ryder Cup event it's great to think about who's footsteps you are following in. The Montgomery course is a little hilly, so consider a buggy.

“Great Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

After a long evening finishing well into the early hours we needed a good hearty breakfast and this was just what we had. Choose from full English or Continental, excellent quality, good service and time to linger over the Sunday papers. Great start to the day

“Frustrating!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Have played several times now, on both the Montgomery and the Roman Road and unfortunately things haven't improved. Both courses are in reasonable condition especially for this time of year, however the problem is too much traffic. Far too many players on course at any one time which results in long delays on tee's, golfers push in extending delay times on tee's and marshalls are seldom seen. When complaints are made clear the problems are unresolved. I appreciate the importance of getting as much revenue as possible but not at the expense of the golfers who should expect to get around comfortably in less than five hours but this is not the case. My last round of golf on Roman Road resulted in our three ball walking off at the eleventh hole due to extreme delays ahead. We reported the problem to the golf shop and were informed to come back later in the day if it was quieter to resume our game. This is not acceptable and as it was already 4pm there was very little daytime left. No other alternative was offered.

“Golf and resort exceptional - the odd rough edge but overall impressive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

Played Monty and 2010 - quite an experience and a severe test of golf. Upgraded from Manor House Accommodation and this is a very comfortable resort. It is huge! Good plentiful buffet breakfast, but we dined out in Caerleon - see The Bell. Be prepared for 5 star prices - cup of tea in 2010 clubhouse £3.90 - well. Cellar bar quite lively and viewed sport on tv's. escalators cope with acres of space between floors. Free car park is a long way away - not very convenient. Courtesy bus is under pressure at peak times, service ranged from quite exceptional to just good.
