Visited today with an Amazon Voucher.
We had a wam welcome after calling and explaining that we would be a little later than we had booked.
We weren't sure what to order off the Sunday Lunch menu but we didn't have to make a decision, we had the special with all 3 meats + roasties+rice an peas+carrots, cabbage and extra(really good)gravy and the alcohol free punch.

I can't honistly say what part of the meal either of us enjoyed ther most, as all meats were plentiful, well cooked, hot and very tasty, in fact we couldn't fault anything there and picked up a menu for the evenings, spoke to the chef who explained some of the food to us,as we are certain to go back there.

We have often tried new places with vouchers of one kind or another and so often it has been a special quite poor menu, but not this time- they showcased what they could do and have gained a couple of new "full price" customers who will be telling friends to visit as well.
I am surprised that it was so quiet there.

We have been to Dutchy's a number of times, and always find the food is excellent. They also sell Red Strip Beer, and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

Have attended here a few times for birthdays with large parties.
I was only once dissapointed by a dry chicken burger, but otherwise have found the food to be delicious, especially the Okra.
Service has always been slow but that is expected, given that the food is cooked fresh. This is by far the best restaurant in Central Newport.

A little jewel! Was recommended by a friend who visited a few weeks ago. The staff were lovely and took time to explain the menu to our group. The food was so beautiful and well presented. The mango prawns were to die for and enormous. The Jerk chicken is outstanding and just spicy enough. The table was jam packed with food And the rum punch was delicious. The bill was reasonable and definitely didnt break the bank. We are now organising a works night out and cant wait to go back! Thank you.

Looking for somewhere to eat in Newport during a weekend away for my Brother's birthday. I picked Dutchy's because it was well reviewed and I had never eaten "proper" Jamaican food.
There were ten of us so I contacted Dutchy's and arranged a selection of starters and mains for a fixed price per head. Tony and Bev couldn't have been more helpful and all was sorted within a few days, finally ending up with an emailed menu with a detailed description of each dish that was to be served.
When we were dropped off by our Taxi's outside a blue painted "house", we were a little unsure, but when you go in to the atmospheric, "shack", it's brilliant. Lined with timber, corrugated iron sheets and bright green paintwork. We were welcomed with a rum punch and Tony and Bev introduced themselves and made us all extremely welcome.
Then the food started to arrive! Pork ribs, Ackee and Saltfish, a spinach like thing, Jamaican bread and a few other things.
More mains than you could shake a stick at followed, including jerk pork and chicken, river island chicken, red snapper, sweet potato curry, etc. We ended up doing it justice, but still leaving quite a bit. There was simply nothing on the table that wasn't delicious. The Saltfish was fantastic, the jerk pork and chicken superb, the curry goat, tender and spicy. Everything was wonderful and the staff were happy, smiling, helpful and quick. Unfortunately we pretty much had to eat and go, but the place was starting to buzz as we were leaving and it looked like a good night was on the cards. My introduction to Jamaican food was faultless and I'll be trying to recreate some of the dishes at home. Thanks to everyone at Dutchy's, you were all brilliant.
