Although I said more than a year ago it could have been last week. This is another method in Newport of traversing the river Usk and had been for a number of years the only way to cross until the George Street Bridge was opened in 1964. It is one of only 3 in Britain and is still carrying cars across the river at a £1 charge per vehicle.
