Labuan Guest House
Ranked #5 of 34 Newport B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 3, 2013

I would definitely book to stay here again. The Labuan Guest House is worthy of it's AA four star rating. It was an ideal location for our golfing trip to Celtic Manor. The friendly welcome and service was excellent, we were really made to feel at home. The property has character and the facilities are ideal. The breakfast was fabulous. Our hosts - John and Pat provided us with everything we needed for our stay and even gave us lots of advice and stories about the area. I look forward to staying again in the future. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms were very nice.

What a welcome and such a wonderful house! The attention to detail in all aspects is second to none. Pat and John are fantastic hosts and did everything to make us feel very welcome. They even looked after our cairn terrier when we went out to a reception in the evening which was absolutely fantastic. The soft furnishings are inspiring and luxurious, breakfast great too. When we visit Newport again we will not hesitate to return to the Labuan. Thanks again Pat & John & Alfie of course.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked fantastic. We had the double room as it was my husband and I and our cairn terr...

Had a wonderful stay in Labuan Guest House. Pat & Jon make you feel especially welcome. Rooms all luxuriously furnished. Bed in my room was particularly cosy. Large fluffy towels & toiletries all provided in your en suite bathroom. Extremely tasty breakfast each morning. Pat's homemade walnut & apricot breads have to be tasted to be believed. Labuan Guest House has off street parking. The bus stop is two steps away from the front door with buses into Newport City Centre; Railway Station & Bus Station every ten minutes. You can walk into the centre of Newport in twenty - twenty five minutes.
Highly recommended for a stay on business or pleasure in Newport or surrounding areas.
Thanks again Pat & Jon

I have just stayed here for the second time and highly recommend this wonderful guest house. Pat is so welcoming and she and John have a beautiful home which is luxurious and stylishly decorated. Everything is top quality from the cotten bed linen to the toilet paper! Pat is devoted to attention to detail and there are so many extra little touches - chocolate bars, bottles of water, packets of tissues. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast is fanstastic and includes homemade museli, fresh coffee and a wide range of cooked items to choose from. This really is an establishment where the owners care about and take great pride in their successful business ensuring you really do have the most relaxing and enjoyable stay. It's rare to find a place that consistently receives 5 stars on Tripadvisor and Labuan House absolutely deserves their exemplary record.

Room Tip: The double room has a lovely big ensuite with a bath. Well worth paying an extra £5 for if you are t...

I stayed with Pat and John again this year and again enjoyed there understated but excellent hospitality..This substantial terrace exudes quality in every way and one can appreciate the original owner, a sea captain's great choice of location near but not too close to the city.. Ask the hosts to tell you of this buildings fascinating history and another tip is that golf is a subject to Pat's
heart. Notwithstanding accommodation is generous and food superb so they tick all the boxes.
Not to forget Alfie their oh so cute guard dog albeit a pint sized one. Recommended in every way.

So lovely to arrive at this exceptional guest house at the end of a long day travelling. Pat and John are so friendly and warm and the guest house has everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed every moment of our time there. Safe parking, an excellent breakfast, nearby park for the dog and beautifully decorated rooms. Pat and John have thought of everything! We will be back next year - delighted to have found such a great place to stopover on our long trip from Belgium to Ireland.

We recently stayed overnight at this excellent guest house when we came up to Wales to do our yearly Phototherapy update at the Hospital. We had one double room and 2 singles all were beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We had everything we could possibly need in the rooms and an exceptionally good breakfast the following morning. We shall definitely come back again next year, thank you.

Room Tip: No pool or fitness centre, but couldn't remove grading sorry
