This is the second time in as many weeks that I have taken a friend for lunch. The first visit was not successful - but only because on the first visit I went with a friend who has a gluten intolerance & the light lunch options & cakes all contain gluten. We were both disappointed, but had to find an alternative. A pity because the ambience is lovely & relaxing - as are the staff! This time round with another friend we were able to spend a leisurely couple of hours over fresh panini with a choice of two fillings & relish, Lovely. We followed these (after a rest) indulgently by orange & chocolate muffins which were delicious; a proper Friday afternoon treat. We weren't hurried or harried & had it not been for the yummy mummy with the toddler with the healthiest lungs this side of the River Usk (at least I cleared the wax out of my ears I suppose!) it would have been perfect. Highly recommended, well worth a visit.

Very welcome coffee and lunch stop between visiting the museum and Roman Baths. ggod choice of hot drinks, scrumptious cakes and light lunch options and home made and local produce. Friendly service.

(Confused as to why it is classified as Newport---this city is nearby- and therefore not found under "Caerleon" when I searched)

There is no better place to visit than Caerleon when the sun is out, but when the heat becomes too much to handle, where's the best place to go? Well, it can only be the one and only Lodge Coffee & Deli in the heart of Caerleon town.

From delicious ice cool frappacinos, to paninis that tantalise the tastebuds, there is something here for everyone. They also cater well for families with small children and you can often see a family there treating themselves to tea and a cake from their wondrous selection.

The coffee shop has been decorated superbly with great tables made from local old wooden train runners, comfy leather sofas and great artwork painted by the local artist Nigel Hughes.

You'll always be greeted with a smile from the owners and hard working baristas, and I'm sure it's a place you'll visit time and time again, like I do.

***Favourite panini flavour - try the brie, bacon and chan chan chilli jam - one bit of this, and you'll want to buy a jar of chan chan from the deli, believe me***
