We went down the Bay to see this controversial building they spent so much public money on. Our first impression was that the building was actually quite nice and modern.

We climbed the many stairs that lead up to the main entrance where we intended to enter the building. We asked a person who happened to be there smoking a cigarette and appeared to be a security guard if the building was open and if it was OK to enter. His - quite rude - answer in a distinctive cockney accent was:

- First you should read the sign and then ask me!!!

We found this very unwelcoming and couldn't even be bothered to get inside, which is a shame as apparently the Senedd has so much to offer and it's "everybody's building". This person must have had a bad day or some problems however we don't think there's an excuse for this kind of behaviour.

Thank Richard M

Well worth a visit. An impressive building built for a lot less than the Scottish Assembly. Our guide was enthusiastic and extremely informative and good ambassador for Wales. He described the ideas for the building, architecture and construction. The building is virtually all glass and so is wry light and airy. The chamber is modern, comfortable and obviously contains the latest technology. We also saw the committee rooms and able to photograph the interesting architectural designs. Well worth the visit.

A very impressive building, situated on the waterfront in Cardiff Bay, affording fine views. The building itself is something to behold, as the photos no doubt suggest, and the interior is as striking as the exterior. The café within is pleasant, and, as the walls are glass, you can still see out towards the bay. Most significantly, the place has an exciting atmosphere, or for me at least, as you can view the Assembly's proceedings, working on behalf if Wales in a Welsh institution. This is a big step, and who knows, maybe this is the beginning of Welsh nationhood?

We visited the Senedd after going to the Dr Who exhibition as I knew we could get something to eat and drink here. My husband had not visited the Senedd before. The security might seem a little tight to some, but it is after all a government building, and it doesn't take long to get through security. Unless you do a tour you only see the main hall and the debating chamber from above. But we had come for a cup of tea. My husband and son were delighted with the food they ordered, it was very good, well presented and very reasonably priced. As the Assembly was not sitting, the cafe area was quiet and we didn't feel rushed at all. The Senedd has a pleasant ambience.
