A country experience, yet only 5 miles out of Cardiff, close to M4 junction, and within walking distance of Radyr railway station with frequent trains into town. A very personal greeting from Margaret, spotless quiet room despite the proximity of the motorway, and a wonderful cooked breakfast. Good walks from the frknt door along the River Taff.Very good value for money.

Our choice of Gelynis Farm B & B was based on its location--we wanted to stay near, but not in, Cardiff. The location was perfect. So was the b & b.

The "farm" in Gelynis Farm is for real--we were among horses and sheep, and although we weren't far from the motorway we felt as though we were on a farm vacation. Our room was simply and pleasantly furnished. Margaret was a lovely hostess, and her breakfasts were fantastic!

My husband and I were travelling with our 8 year old to Cardiff for the first time . While on a 2 week trip across UK we loved our 3 days stay at Gelynis . Tucked away in a countryside farmhouse , away from the hussle-bustle of daily living we got the flavour of country side living in Wales . Fabulous breakfast tossed up by Margaret and what a wonderful host she is ! There is a lively pub with good food about a 10 minute walk from the farmhouse . Bus stops going into Cardiff town all within walking range . Definitely recommend this property .

My partner and I stayed here for one night in May and were more than happy! Margaret is an excellent hostess. Her communication via email before our stay was good and she accommodated our needs perfectly.
We found the accommodation easily and were greeted by Margaret on arrival.
Our room was beautifully clean with everything we needed for our stay.
A good location, being just outside of cardiff with great information about local places to visit.
I would recommend this B & B in the future and would like to thank Margaret for making our stay so lovely. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

We stayed from Friday to Monday. Easy to find not far from motorway, easy to get into Cardiff and other locations.
Accommodation clean with heating and shower.
Breakfasts lovely - Margaret very friendly and accommodating, she was very concerned to make sure that my partner (who has to have gluten free diet) was properly looked after. Going for breakfast and chatting to Margaret got the day off to a good start.
Its in a very quiet location, you have to open and close the railway crossing gates but you get used to that.
Close to the river which allows for a nice walk - if you want (and we didn't) you can walk the five miles to Cardiff.
Plenty of wildlife so ideal if you just want to get away from the hustle and bustle.

me and my partner tara and my daughter grace stayed a gelynis farm Easter 2014.we felt so welcome from the moment we arrived.our room was beautiful, clean and warm, the wi fi signal was strong so we could use the internet without buffering not easy when you are in the countryside.,,
the breakfast margaret provided was delicious and plentyful.just down the road was the lovely pub the Tynant we had our evening meals and a pint and in Radyr is a station with trains that take you straight into cardiff city center in 10 minutes. One thing i forgot to mention in the grounds of Gelynis farm is a great little cafe with a super pot of tea and bacon butties thats what i had but they served coffee ice creams and all different types of food.If you like Dogs you will love Marley the farms family dog and his tennis ball. You will definately love this bed and breakfast we did.

Room Tip: they are all good.

Margaret runs a lovely B&B not far off a busy road outside Cardiff. Our room was stocked with cuteness and tidy country charm. The amenities are contemporary and appropriate, Wi-fi worked perfectly (not a small thing out in the country) and the views and scenery (including a small castle) were out of a picture book. To top it off, the full Welch breakfast was great. Margaret is bubbly and welcoming, but she is very sensitive not to intrude on guests' experience. We will certainly return here if we have the opportunity.
