We stayed here with friends for a weekend. The hotel was clean, comfortable and only about 15 mins walk into town. If you didnt want to walk there was a bus stop right out side the hotel. Or the taxis were very good and cost about £5 for 4 of us one way .The bathroom was big enough with a good shower and clean towels. The bed was very very comfortable and it is one of the best we have slept in when we have been away. The room was at the back and we slept very well on both nights with no noise at all. When we re- visit Cardiff we would stay here again.. Thanks for a great and comfy stay.

I stayed at The Avala for a couple of nights whilst in Cardiff on a course. The Avala is on the busy Newport Road, my single room was at the front of the building, it was a little noisy but I slept ok, mainly because the bed was so comfortable. The room was small, but it was a single after all, the shower stayed at an even temperature and was powerful enough. In all my stay was good value for money.

Husband was moved here as Tanes guesthouse had a problem with their room. Room 6 here was clean and comfortable but in the morning 4 cars parked at the back had smashed windows. Staff very helpful but a negative point for the guesthouse unfortunately.! CCTV working and police looking into it.

The room was clean and warm and the bed comfortable, we were disappointed at the breakfast. At £4.95 would have expected a little more choice and filter coffee.
We were put in the Rooms to let side of the Guest house, up two flights of stairs and were very annoyed to be woken at 4am on both nights by Students banging doors and ordering take away food.
Ideal place for young people, about 15 mins walk to town, but certainly not the place for a mature couple. I guess you get what you pay for and we will certainly be paying a little more to stay in a proper hotel.

I was not expecting miracles but I was expecting a room that was fully functional as advertised. There was no bulb in my lamp. I went to charge my phone and was horrified that the front of the sockets was hanging off. There was no wifi signal in my room. Continental Breakfast at 4.95 per head, should surely be slightly more exciting that a croissant shoved in the microwave luke warm. A very limited selection of fruit and cereal. No tinned fruits and orange juice with no other choice.
The shower was very feeble, slow water flow which was hot then cold then hot then cold and I DO mean HOT then "COLD" brrrrrr

The view was straight into next doors bedroom window if I wanted the window open which I did because the room was a stifling dry heat. Only time I saw the Manager was having a fag outside the small building in the carpark - not a great advert sorry guys a huge let down.

Room Tip: I had room 3

Stayed here this weekend with the lads, great hotel to be fair, loads of space in the room for activities, clean aswell. 15 minutes stride from the town centre and they gave us toilet roll on the second day cause we used it all, brilliant! Only downside was the shower, it's hot then it's cold, you're in then you're out. 5 minutes shower will take you 20 minutes unless you're a proper man and you power through it. Would stay here again any day though.
