Roath Park is pleasingly well set out for what is essentially an inner city park. As we visited in winter, there wasn't much activity but myself and my husband enjoyed an excellent cream tea from across the road. We had a poke around the mini glasshouse which was a warm respite from the chilly weather. The gardens are maintained to the highest degree. Well worth it.

I have always loved roath park, when I was at university I would go there to revise or just to have a change of scenery of a busy city.

But after an even more wonderful than usual day I had there in August, I just have to leave a review.

The park is large and there is lots to do an see. The large lake is teaming with wildlife, while we were there the ducks, swans and geese had all had their babies and it was so lovely to be able to get so close to these and even feed them. It is also a boating lake so you can hire a boat and get even closer to the wildlife.

There is also a play area for children which is large and contains various climbing frames as well as the usual swings and slides.

There is a permenant ice cream stall as well as various licenced vans which park up at various locations at the park. There is also a small cafe which is always full to the brim with visitors. The food is good a relatively cheap.

As well as all this, there is an indoor tropical area, which you pay (a very small fee) to go in and see tropical plants and turtles.

The park is always well maintained, the gardens are beautifully kept and changed according to the season.

This place in most definitely worth a visit. You don't have to spend a penny if you don't want to and still leave feeling like your in the countryside rather than the centre of a city!

I would suggest it to families, nature lovers, photographers and anyone wanting to get away from it all for a few hours!

This is a lovely park, theres lots of wildlife on the lake and its a nice walk around the lake. There's a good size playground for the kids and for a small fee there's a large greenhouse with some amazing fish and plants to see. We have been many times and its still an enjoyable place to visit.

Beautiful gardens, well maintained and flourishing. we pic-nicked under some trees overlooking the blossoming rose garden. tarred paths everywhere so good for buggies & wheelchairs. The glass house was pleasant (although really it was too hot a day for it!) with all the terrapins and fish! Brilliant park for the kids and it was teeming!

A relaxing place which i visit many times a year. The walk round the lake is peaceful and a great chance to have a look at the many ducks and swans up close. Taking a boat out on the lake is great fun for both children and adults, although the inevitable slight price increase this year is annoying. There is a good play area for the youngsters to run themselves wild, and lovely gardens in the summer for a gentle walk in the peace and quiet. My one complaint is the cafe area which becomes very cramped when fed round the narrow curve to the ordering point, the layout could have been a lot more user friendly, and that fact that they didn't have what we wanted to order. That aside Roath Park is a lovely place to visit that i would recommend to most.
