What a great place, friendly staff, large spacious bedrooms with everything clean and working. Food in the restaurant is superb as is the service. Great gym with excellent equipment and free classes. Would not stay anywhere else next time I,m in Cardiff. If it had its own car park I would have given it 6 stars

At first, I was very pleased. Free wi-fi. Nice, large room, very clean and a really good gym with pool and steam room.
However, I was a bit disappointed by the end when I could not sleep due to the hotel being located right outside a Wetherspoon's and the noise not subsiding until after 2am. I was on the first floor. You could tell they tried hard with the soundproofing as I could not hear a bus go past, yet I could still hear the beating of the music and people shouting. This was on a Thursday night.
The other disappointment was the parking. I thought I was getting it for free, but I only got a 20% discount, so it still cost about £15 for the night.
Unfortunately, purely because of the noise, I wouldn't stay here again.

Not sure what it was about this place it was everything you could want location good, clean and tidy (sme mould in the bathroom tiles mind you). Restaurant nice for breakfast, nice big room etc. It was maybe just a bit too modern in the room and not at all "homely". Like a posh Premier Inn I suppose! That said the bed was very uncomfortable, not like a Premier Inn.

Noisy location and not that impressed by Cardiff really bearing in mind it is a "capital", just like any normal City really, nice enough but a bit scruffy, certainly a poor relation to Edinburgh and also Belfast.

Stayed one night, huge room massive bed! Very comfortable and great bathroom, lovely toiletries - we had a superior room and it was well worth it. It was a huge room !

The hotel had been informed it was booked for an anniversary by my partners PA and when we checked in we were greeted with a "happy anniversary" and a card in the room from the staff which was a lovely touch
Would be very happy to stay again. We didn't use the spa facilities but everything we did use was lovely

Stayed only for a night, but eager to come back again. Spacious rooms, very friendly customer service, modern, good location near city centre. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel given its price. Highly recommended for all types of travellers, from business to couples to small families.

This was a one night stay for business. Check in was efficient and I was soon in a very comfortable room which was clean, well laid out and had a very modern appearance. The bathroom was good with an excellent shower.

A few minor quibbles: the lighting was a bit subtle, even in the bathroom. That was fine in the evening but a bit difficult applying make up in the morning. The heating seemed to go out as soon as the key card was removed from the wall slot which meant coming back into a chilly room after an evening out. And a tip - maybe this is me being a bit daft - but the spare electric sockets were not on the main wall but just to the side of the window - I searched for ages before realising that they were hidden by the drawn curtains.

I had a room service breakfast which arrived in good time and was very good - particularly the fresh fruit salad.

I'd recommend the hotel and would stay here again.

I stayed here (second time) for a business visit December 2012. Comfortable room – 227 – spacious, well-fitted; comfy bed. Awful view from the window over an adjoining roof/wall, but as I was only there to stay overnight that didn’t matter. Bathroom was very good – excellent bath and shower, once I’d worked out how the multi-position control selected either the bath, the main shower or the lower-level handset. It has a smart mirror over the washbasin – a large rectangle that stays clear when the rest fogs up after a shower/bath.
The hotel is very convenient for the city centre and the corporate rates seem fair for such a hotel in such a position. Parking is possible in the NCP multi-storey car park opposite, and you get a 20% discount off the ticket price if you ask at the hotel Reception when you check out.
The breakfast was good – self-service, but with a varied selection of comestibles available.
There is free WiFi, but it was a bit iffy in my room - I found it kept dropping the connection when using my Android phone. Might have been better elsewhere in the hotel.

Room Tip: Best to ask if you want a room with a view.
