A two night break with my husband to coincide with Cardiff Bay food and drink festival. A lovely little hotel, comfortable rooms with an impressive wet room. Good breakfast cooked to order. Only negative was the ice machine in the bar broke so no cold drinks a bit unfortunate on the hottest weekend of the year!!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel as a birthday treat in February. We had a very pleasant welcome. Parking outside is at a premium when you may have a lot of luggage to take to your room. The room was pleasant and quaint, a little bit dusty in some areas, but that did not distract from it being used as a bedroom for one night. The one criticism I did have of our room was that the heated towel rail in our bathroom, it was wall mounted and the size of a small radiator. In fact it did indeed act as a radiator (but no visible means to turn it off) and was exceptionally hot, even to the extent we had to open the window to cool the room down. This in turn let in the noise of the drunken revellers outside.

The breakfast the following morning was of excellent quality, though it was a little slow. We were the only two in for breakfast, yet it took about 25 minutes for the cooked breakfast to arrive. We were not in a hurry, so it wasn't an issue.

What could have been an issue was that the nearest parking is the Mermaid Quay a short walk away, which would have cost almost £20 for the overnight stay, but again the gods were good to us and the pay machines were broken and the stay was free.

Overall, a lovely hotel, a great stay, but was marred by the towel rail (You could get quite a nasty burn off it). But if you do indeed, like me, worry about parking and its cost, this might cause concern.

A great little hotel which is placed in an enviable position right in the heart of Cardiff Bay. Good links to the City centre either by bus or water taxi both within a couple of minutes of the hotels front door. The best option for parking is in the Pier Head multi storey car park behind the Millennium Centre which is opposite Jolyons and just a 5 minute walk away. Parking was reasonably priced and cost just £12 from Friday late afternoon to Sunday morning. There are some parking spaces immediately outside the hotel but is metered short stay , but I believe it was free after 6.00 pm .
The rooms were excellent , and all can be viewed on the hotels own website before booking . Breakfast was served downstairs in the bar and was freshly cooked.
Right on the doorstep there are a number of bars and restaurants all overlooking the Bay. Just a further short walk away is the Dr Who museum Experience.
Overall a great hotel and location. Next stay already booked ! .

Room Tip: View the hotels own website to view each room.

Located down by Cardiff Bay with lots of restaurants/bars. Access to the city either by walking (a good 20 mins), the number 6 bus nearby, cost £1.70 or a local ferry &3.00.

The hotel is comfortable and the staff are friendly. We stayed in room 3, which was pleasant enough, two points to make, firstly the windows are not double glazed so you hear all the street noise and secondly, the window treatments are inadequate to block out the street lights, hence getting a good nights sleep is not guaranteed..

The breakfast provided was fine with cereal, juice, toast and cooked available plus tea/coffee.Free bottled water and internet wi-fi is also provided.

Jolyons has good rooms, lively bar, and fine breakfast. But the best thing about it is the location on Cardiff Bay, in walking distance of a terrific range of bars and restaurants overlooking the bay.

Room Tip: Go for back or front, not side, for good views
