After our visit to The Gutsy Goose we decided we would make the effort and try and visit a new venue each week and see if we can decide where Cardiff's best breakfast was.

It was a nice sunny morning so we sat outside and both ordered the breakfast.

It was busy so it took a little while to come but it was worth the wait. Every element of the breakfast was first class nice thick bacon, quality meaty pork sausage eggs were cooked to perfection and the black pudding was full of flavour.

The staff were really attentive without being over the top. It is probably not the cheapest breakfast you will find but you are paying for the quality in the ingredients being served.

Will definitely be back.

The Fat Pig Deli is open for breakfast, which is delightful on a weekend. During the day for lunch mid week and weekends, but the SECRET which many people don't know, is on Friday and Saturday evenings, it's open for TAPAS.
Our party of 4 dined on at Saturday at 8:00pm. The service was faultless. Drinks wise I started with a Sangria (made with a shot of vodka, sherry, red wine, orange juice and lots of fruit). Delicious garlic olives were provided whilst we decided on our Tapas selection. I chose pickled anchovies in oil, battered calamari, chorizo in red wine sauce, a selection of deli meats, and Spanish meatballs in a tomato sauce. Well, I couldn't finish it all, but was pleased with my order and I could try all these delectable dishes. My favs were the chorizo and deli meats. An impromptu sherry tasting session followed with an informal chat with our host. What a wonderful evening.

Quick lunch with friends led us to the Fat Pig Deli. Lovely food and coffee. Had the bacon and Perl Wen (a soft Welsh cheese) toastie. Friendly staff. Problem is with parking but we eventually found a space nearby. Bought some Perl Wen and large bowl of olives to bring home.

Stopped off for a quick lunch break and was so pleased we did. The food was gorgeous and the staff (husband and wife) were so accommodating. Bought some lovely ham and cheese for dinner that evening. Been back since had the duck egg and black pudding. Astounding!!!

Have visited several times now and whilst the menu is small the food is excellent.
Quality ingredients and generous servings.

Service can be a little slow during peak times but it's a small venue and is very popular. I prefer to go later on a Saturday afternoon to miss the rush.

You can also buy several items from the Deli. Bread items are fresh baked and they do a mean baguette.
