I have just come back from a spa break here for my mothers 60th birthday, we had two twin rooms on the 10th floor, which were lovely. They had big rooms, had comforatble beds, were spotless, had a fridge, ironing facilities, hairdryer, toiletries, nice big fluffy towells and tea and coffee facilities.
The bathroom was big with a big tub and seperate shower, the shower was a power shower and had lots of room.
The room had a table and two armchairs and a desk with a mirror. Plenty of sockets and great views through the floor to ceiling windows.
The spa was lovely, we got my mother a facial for her birthday and she said it was the best she's had, she looked positively radiant after it and a little bit spaced out. :-)

We booked under a special Sunday night offer, we had afternoon tea which consisted of a three tier of sandwiches, mini cakes and fresh abked scones with another tray of clotted cream, jams and fresh fruit. VERY NICE.. They even gave us a doggy bag to take the rest to our room. We then used the spa facilites, which were great, large pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We didnt make it up to the relaxation room as we had left it too late due to a shopping trip in to Cardiff which was within walking distance, about 5 mins walk.
We then went for dinner which was tasty and plentiful, the bar man had taken note of the fact that it was my mothers birthday and informed the restaurant, they brought out my mothers desert with a glass of champagne and even sang happy birthday to her.
We had a lovely breakfast the next morning, everything you could ask for and all well presented and well chilled or heated.
All in all this was a fantastic hotel, the staff couldnt do enough for you and the facilites were excellent. There was parking underneath the hotel for £14 a night.
The whole package cost us £190 all in but I would say it would have been a bargain at twice that price. Will definitely go again and will highly recommend to others.
We're already planning our next trip.

Booked in 2012 when dates for 2013 GP were announced and got a decent price for room only but were quoted £16.00 extra per person for breakfast. This was reduced to £10.00 when we checked in. Room was good, service was good. Food and drink is expensive. Didn't get to use leisure facilities. Hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Millenium Stadium. Would try and book again for 2014 GP.

I stayed here as part of a mid week spa break in March 2013. The hotel offered a great deal including a night's accommodation, three course evening meal, breakfast, a 30 minute spa treatment and full use of the facilities. Location wise this hotel is a 5 minute walk from Cardiff queen street station and shopping areas. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and maintained to a very high standard: the room was spacious and comfortable with a gorgeous bathroom featuring both a walk in shower and bathtub. The beds were incredibly comfy and provided the best night's sleep i'd had in months!

The restaurant staff (particularly the italian gentleman i believe was head waiter) offered exemplary service and the standard of food was excellent. The fresh seafood in particular was a welcome addition to a set menu. Breakfast also offered an extensive range of hot and cold items as well as a number of specific dishes to-order.

The spa facilities were the best i've experienced in Cardiff- the relaxation room was a dream! The masseuse was friendly and converted my companion (previously very anti-massage) to the joys of a great back massage. The pool was clean and much larger than offered by other spas in the area and the steam, sauna and jacuzzi were all well maintained and not showing any signs of neglect.

All in all- great experience, eager to repeat!

Stayed here for a weekend in April as part of a hen party. The hotel was perfect for our needs, the rooms were clean and spacious and the L shaped layout gave extra privacy in the twin room.
Staff very friendly and location is great if you’re looking for a city break.
There was lots of choice at breakfast and the food quality was great.
The only downside was the noise the seagulls made right outside our window in the morning but iI dont suppose there is much the hotel can do about it.
Would definitely return.

Recently stayed and had to swop rooms as the first one allocated was pretty dire, stained carpet, stained chairs and very tired. Second one was better but room looking tired. Bed ok but had to ask for more pillows as they were very flat.
Breakfast very mediocre , clearly been cooked way too far in advance and poor quality. And watch out for waiters taking away your plate before you've finished - we left in disgust second morning as we were asked if we had finished for the second time in about 2 mins - the restaurant wasn't busy it was 7 am so not rushed. We said no and waiter took our plates! Lost in translation?
Trying somewhere else next week.

booked with booking.com, upon check in i had requested rooms next to each other as my two teenagers were sharing a room, they told us they didnt have two rooms together and we would be on separate floors, needless to say i wasnt happy, they eventually found two rooms together we went up to get settled in, one room was ok the other room hadnt been cleaned and there was a huge crack in the window(this being eleven floors up)so back to reception who insisted thats all they had and where aware of the crack, so we decided to risk it and stay on different floors luckily we could see into the kids room from our floor.the hotel is four stars, the rooms are not the furniture is tired looking carpets are worn and overall it needs some tlc.overall our stay was ok the kids enjoyed the pool and sauna but i wouldnt go back, saying that alot of hotels we saw in cardiff did look very tired and scruffy.

Room Tip: we had executive rooms plenty of room , good views but still very tired looking.

Having driven 3 hours, we arrived at the hotel by 11pm on Saturday to be told a hotel system error had caused rooms to be overbooked, so they had no room for us for both Saturday and Sunday night . All other hotels in central Cardiff were fully booked for the bank holiday weekend so arrangements had been made for us to stay at another hotel 5 miles out of town. I had booked and paid for this room well in advance and chosen to stay in central Cardiff for a reason; walking distance to most places and convenient to meet friends we had planned this weekend with. Our weekend was ruined. Not what I expected from a leading hospitality brand. So, I would rethink choosing this hotel over any busy period as there is a chance your booking may be cancelled at the last minute!
