Choose hotel as a one night stay with the misses, for closeness to the city, and it is only 5-10mins from main city centre.

Hotel itself was clean, room was clean and modern, private secure parking a bonus, receptionist was polite and very helpful, however a few niggles as follows.

Toilet seat broke clearly had been for a while, no point reporting as cleaners clearly would have noticed.

Shower was ok but Hot water ran out shortly after the misses had finished, left myself with a midly cold shower, great.

Noise from room next door was as if they we in our room, could hear their conversations and tv all evening and they weren't being loud just thin walls i guess.

Bed felt very cheap and soft and you could feel the springs.

This hotel is known for being a party capital if you read other reviews and the Lady on reception confirms this however mid week the night club is closed and so becomes a normal hotel.

For the price paid I feel I got what I paid, but for the same price feel i could have had much better even with the likes of travelodge etc.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you are on a low budget and need midweek stay then it becomes a possibility

I booked this hotel for a hen do and would highly recommend no one stays here! My group had other guests trying to get in our rooms on several occassions, were at unease by the behaviour of other guests directed at us and had no support from the hotel staff- in fact, when the hotel were questioned about this, they responded with a unprofessional email which confirmed the appalling nature of this hotel. Ignore all they say about 'good customer service' on their webiste!

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

This group complained because they said there were noisy people talking outside their room and trying the door handle of their room. What they fail to mention is quite a few of the girls in this group were in the bar and back and forth the corridors and rooms all night until 6.00am! The other thing was when they returned from their night out they sat in reception for a while and another male guest went to talk to them. His chatter was unwelcome and they told him that, he made a comment and then went to bed.

We stayed a group of four girls, for one night on the 14/01/12. The hotel is very well located, about a five minute walk from the city centre and all the bars and clubs, ideal for a night out.
The rooms are noisy, but hey when your coming back in the early hours after a night on the town it really doesn't matter! The guy on the hotel reception was very friendly and advised us of the best places to go! If you are looking for luxury then this is probably not the place for you, however it was lovely and clean so can't really complain.

it was my 1st ever night in a hotel with my husband, we went there on new years eve & all i can is it was memorable lol, i will start with the good points, secure car parking, staff were friendly, close to the city centre took us about 5-10mins walk, bar prices ok, now for the bad points, no lift, poor signage for direction of rooms, dark hallways with very little lighting, got into the room, carpets very stained & dirty, bathroom toilet seat was broke, bathroom light over sink didnt work, mould/damp/black in corners of walls & floor, broken ironing board, only 2 plug sockets in the whole room which were for the tv & kettle, then to top it off the bed was completely broke, the divan had caved in & mattress had broke coz you could feel all the springs into you, we demanded a new room immediately, they gave us another room which was next door to out original room (222) so went into 220 and everything apart from the bed was the same, we paid £90 for a double room for 1 night with no breakfast & had to be out of the room & hand the key back by 11am next day, all i can say is i would rather pay the extra £50-70 a night & go to the Hilton or somewhere else, it was a very memorable 1st hotel experience

I would like to clarify some points in this review.
1. No we don't have a lift but we didn't say that we did before you booked.
2. The room numbers are clearly on signs throughout the hotel with clear directions. On check in you were given clear directions from staff to your room. The room was on the 2nd floor and there is only one corridor on this floor so its difficult to get lost.
3. The bathroom seat was not broken it had however come off its anchor and it should have been re-secured. The string for the shaving light had gone behind the mirror and had we been informed this could have been rectified immediately. The bedroom has a total of six sockets,(3 doubles) two each side of the bed and two at the dressing table.
4. The ladies husband came down stairs and said that the bed was broken and it was. For that I am extremely sorry. One of the central support struts had broken and unfortunately our cleaners had not noticed this when changing the bed, therefore it was not reported to us for it to be rectified. As soon as the gentlemen came to reception we immediately said we would change the room without any request and certainly no demand, in fact the gentleman was extremely nice and was happy to change. The mattress was not broken at all and all our mattresses were replaced less than 12 months ago.
5. I have personally inspected this room fully and there is no damp or mould.
6. The clients did not pay £90.00, we charged £80.00 which we feel represents value for money for New Years Eve and checkout was midday on New Years Day and not at 11.00am as stated.

I am sorry the lady was dissappointed with her stay but I feel the room description is unfair and we pride ourselves on our levels of cleanliness. Other than the issue with the bed no complaint was made by these people whatsoever and the bed was dealt with immediately. We are not a 5 star hotel and we never make a claim to be that. If you had wanted to stay in a hotel like the Hilton and pay in excess of £150 a night you should have, but I feel its unfair to penalise us because you didn't.
