A small but beautiful park a pleasant place to sit and admire the civic centre, very close to the National Museum of Wales and the City Hall, worth a visit

Best example of Victorian buildings in Britain, all within the beautiful Cathays Park

A beautiful area of Cardiff and somewhere quiet to go to rest the visitor on his/her frantic sight seeing! The white buildings were erected on land given by the 3rd Marquis of Bute (I think it was the 3rd) on condition that only public buildings were to be erected. In the centre is a lovely park with a number of war memorials to see and a beautiful, quiet, setting for a picnic in the summer. It is where you will find the National Museum and Art Gallery and City Hall. Take time to wander.

This amazing little park occupies the block behind the Cardiff Town Hall. Surrounded by lovely shrubs that form a perimeter fence, the park very peaceful and isolated from its surrounds. There are some nice statues and features in the park, with a large pavilion feature in memory of the armed forces. The gardens are beautiful, with well tended-flower beds and nice lawns. Cathays Park is a lovely little park that provides some nice views of the surrounding area.
