“Docks replacement”

Where have all the docks gone? Some working port still exists on the fringe, but this is a great redevelopment of the derelict old space into history, culture, restaurants and plenty of waterside walking. The Pierhead Building remains as monument to the industrial past, and the Millenium Centre as an icon for the present and future. If the weather is fair try a walk out to the barrage for great views back across the bay towards the city.

Great views. Happy atmosphere created by loads of couples and families wandering around arm in arm. Lots of choice of restaurants. Interesting sea front walk.

“Busy and lively Mermaid Quay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

A lovely stroll along the Quay with so many things to see. It can be bracing but there are plenty of places to stop for coffee. A real buzz about the place, close to the Millennium Centre and within walking distance or a boat ride across to Penarth.

“Good selection of Restaurants”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2014

We have eaten in quite a few restaurants here with friends and family. We usually turn up on the spur of the moment and never fail to eat in one of the restaurants there, we may have to wait for a table but we have a drink or take a walk around the Quay area and go back, not had a bad meal yet. In the Summer there is often events outside in the Quay area to watch free of charge.
