We stayed in room 406 this week which was a very nice good sized double room .
Good size bed with lovely linen and towels all in all we found it very comfortable ..
The breakfast was excellent and the menu for the evening meals looked good but we were meeting friends in the bay so did'nt need that convenience..
The Hotel is in an excellent position with easy walking to shops and entertainment
The parking charge did'nt bother us as we came on the train but we thought we were getting free wifi so that was a disappointment..However we will definitely be using this hotel again when we visit Cardiff and probably take a look at their hotels in other towns

I am glad you had a great stay and that this will encourage you to use other hotels in our brand.

Your comments regarding Wifi are noted as we are making changes regarding this at the moment, but it is nice to read that all the positive aspects were your lasting impression.

I do hope to welcome you back if in Cardiff,

Kind regards

Stayed here on a bargain pre paid rate and started off really well as usual with my priority membership granting me a free half pint at the bar.

Room was nice and spacious overlooking the Castle and Sophia Gardens, really clean and nice space.

My main gripe with my stay is that twice someone entered my room unannounced, firstly within 15mins of check in, someone knocked once and entered the room to check everything was ok, I was in the shower so could have been embarrassing.

2nd time after a late night one of the cleaning staff knocked the door at 830am and let themselves into the room, thanks for the early wake up call I don't think.

Explained my frustrations to the lady on reception who did apologise but unlikely to be stopping here again and wouldn't recommend to anyone else unless you're an exhibitionist who enjoys strangers coming into your bedroom!

I'll leave it there!

Room Tip: Try and go Millennium Stadium side if you're a lighter sleeper.

I am truly sorry for this most unusual incident, please be assured this will have a full investigation to ensure that there is no possibility of a re occurrence.

I am sorry it spoilt your stay and that there was a lapse in our usual high standards and procedures.

Typical Holiday Inn right in the centre of the city. Only one slight downside - small bathroom but hell who needs a spa to shave and shower! They charge for parking and wi-fi but the staff are friendly and helpful. We did not eat in the restaurant but if you are not happy there are loads of restaurants within walking distance.

We stayed in room 527 and room was really small and a bit tired but the worst thing was the window sill which looked like it had not been cleaned for years complete with bird poo. On the up side this hotel is really central with free car parking. The staff are really friendly and there is a nice hotel bar, but the hotel irish bar appears to have closed down. Overall a good stay but lots of improvements needed on room cleanliness.

Room Tip: Dont choose rm 527

I am sorry the cleanliness let us down, and surprising as this is usually a strong positive theme amongst our reviews.

I am grateful for your constructive points and shall take them on board to ensure they are addressed with our contractors who deal with the high level cleaning.

Many thanks for your comments, and for choosing our hotel in which to stay.

I do hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future.

Stayed here a few years ago and the Hotel had an exterior face lift making it more modern.
We booked a £68.50 Dinner Bed & Breakfast package. Plus kids under 12 eat free! The meal was very good and for £2.50 you can have any main course rather than the limited selection allowed on the package. Kids meal was great quality and all fresh ingredients. Only a few minutes walk to the shops and directly opposite the Castle!

Even though I only stayed over for one night the staff were polite, funny and accomadating. The room was clean and sufficient. . We had a great view of the Millenium Stadium and was over the road from the castle. Shopping was literally a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was fine, plenty of choice, cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yogurts etc however the hot cooked part was not exactly hot hot, the beans were very tasty don't ask me why they just were, but slightly cold. I had a good nights sleep and will definitely go back.

It is so nice to see that the way the team are has been such a lasting positive memory from your trip.

Thank you for your comments, it is vital to have constructive feedback if we have fallen back in an area, and your comments re breakfast will be helpful in ensuring this was an isolated incident.

We look forward to welcoming you back when you visit next.

This hotel is one of the closest to the Millennium Stadium and therefore prices rocket during events. The car park is at the rear but with no direct access into the hotel. The walk from the car park around to the front reception with luggage can be a pain if it's raining. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city centre and the Castle. The Main railway station is a 5-10 minute walk away.
The standard rooms are on the small side when compared with say Premier Inns with the 'double beds' being decidedly cosy. You get a trouser press and an ironing board though which you don't get with Premier Inn. The staff are polite and helpful
The restaurant is modern and clean but lacking somewhat in ambiance. The food is of good quality and well presented as well as being reasonably priced, but the time it takes to appear from the kitchen needs to be addressed by the management. There is a difference between a group of people dining and chatting to the lone diner who is just there for dinner.
