A Beautiful setting wich combines history and the country in a sympathetic and special way. A must if you are in the area.

Providing you get a day where there is not tons of screaming children around you, this can be an ideal place to take a partner for a romantic walk. Would highly recommend on a dry day.

We took my two nieces, ages 6 and 3 to what used to be a fabulous family place to visit. The history, the excellent staff, the beautiful setting - whole area is stunning. However, next time we would think twice about returning. The main car park was full and we had to drive up a road and over rough track to park in a very sloped field around the corner, signs were displayed stating that St Fagans would accept no liability for damage to your car (after we had paid £3.50 for this experience). We then had to walk up to the main building. We attempted to each lunch at least 7 times but each time, no matter where we sat, we were plagued by wasps. The bins were swarming and picnic areas impossible to sit in. We also tried wooded areas and middle of fields but the wasps appeared again. We realise that this is the countryside and wasps belong here but seriously - I have been happily coming here since I was a child and never experienced this before. We had to leave the area as my older niece was quite distressed; we went home and had our picnic indoors. I mentioned our experience at the reception desk and that it may be a good idea to have an indoor eating area. The guide said they had been spraying the bins and were looking into the indoor area as part of redevelopment. Perhaps we will return but definitely not in Summer, or at least until the wasps are under control.

A very popular location for many visitors and locals alike. Free to enter but £3.50 for car park (exact change). Get a good look at the layout to familiarise yourself with the two main sections to visit. All the paths are very serviceable for access. Allow plenty of time for your visit and lunch!
You can get cake and a cuppa in the tea rooms above the Gwalia Stores at the very top of the estate and what an excellent way to have a break. All the buildings have an attendant in who will be more than happy to chat with you about the function of the buildings in 'their time'. In the lower estate where the lagoons are situated there will often be brassbands playing on Sunday afternoons come the summer in the band stand and a brilliant feature.

A great way to relax and unwind. Enjoy visiting reconstructed buildings from all over Wales. A lovely setting with things to.
