Stayed on the following dates 21st - 24th April.

Was very easy to book and seamed a very good price for the exclusive suite. On arrival all was good till we got to the room and was not the standard of a 4 star hotel.

First off the Internet pass code did not work so went down to see if there was something wrong and tried another one that did not work, then someone else brought us another one to the room and that did not work, after about 2 hours was told to buy air time on the Internet and they will refund it back the next day once it was sorted.

Found out that there was no air con in the room as it was the old part of the building, but the fan that is meant to control the temperature did not work, so had two fans bought to our room which did work, but due to the noise of them it was hard to here the TV as it only went up to 23 on the volume, so had to turn the fans off so we where hot again.

Then found out the fridge did not work, so someone come up and took it away and brought another one that sort of worked.
Then found out the mineral water we are meant to get was not here so again asked if we could have some.

When we booked in we used our debt card as we don't use credit cards we use debt cards the hotel could not work with that concept, as when we went for food and charged it to the room them come back and said we could not do it as you have used a debt card, but have to say what we had to eat was very nice in deed. Now we been to a lot of hotels and it has worked on all of them so don't understand why it did not work here.

As advertised on the site they did hammam but found out when we got here they did not do any treatments.

Housekeeping was not up to standard with not putting mineral water in the room every day, as again we had to ask for it from reception. Any rubbish we had we put in the bin or right by it, so when we come back from the pool my wife discovered that her Ted Baker shoe box was missing, she went looking for the staff who cleaned the room and it took them awhile to go through the bins to find the shoe box. As it was a special time for us we had some champagne and what we do is keep the cork and cage and put the date in it, we put it out of the way and later on in the day found they where missing as well, but it was to late to find out where housekeeping binned them.

When we left and booked out we where not asked if we had a good stay, we think they knew what we where going to say.

Some good points, have to say the food is good and the breakfast is very good and is very sweapped up with the flow of food that was on the hot plate.

Stayed at Novotel Cardiff as a base for our recent rugby tour of South Wales. On our arrival the Manager was on hand to welcome us and see to our every need.Dinner at hotel was very good with the staff being very attentive and patient as our party consisted of 16 11&12 year olds..Rooms are very comfortable with great showers..The hotel itself is very nice indeed with a lovely reception area and free Wi-Fi although we didn't have time to use the in house leisure centre it looked to be very well appointed with a great pool..The staff are fantastic which added to what was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay...If you need a taxi use Red Dragon who are very good. If you are lucky you will get Mel as your driver,a lovely young actress who drives taxis in her spare time.

Second time staying at this hotel. The reasons are pretty simple. Location, close to the city centre and a 20 minute or walk to the Bay. Hotel facilities include a decent swimming pool, a hot tub, a steam room and a sauna. The children were really looking forward to staying here just because of this. Parking the car in the hotel car park cost £9 and we stayed for two nights. Reception was very good and we were given a family room on the top or 5th floor. View was great and the room itself was really good. The bathroom had a separate bath with shower attachment, and also a shower. Naturally some things were a bit of a tight fit. Supplied the usual bathroom items which are very good. Room had good space and room service came to sort out the sofa bed and provide extra pillows. The bed was soft medium which my wife found more comfortable. As others have stated, the breakfast here is very good with a large selection of hot and cold food, the option of tea or coffee, and juices. The eating area is split into two areas, one close to the buffet area, and the second some steps down into an overflow area. This is used a lot because space in the former is limited and the throughput of people can be significant and even with the turnaround of clearing up and replacing the cutlery etc. being as quick as it is, there are still not enough tables there. The cost of breakfast could be an issue (it does not come cheap) so you may have to weigh up the option of walking into the city centre as an alternative. Be aware that this hotel also operates as a leisure club and some "locals" can use language that could be offensive. My young son was taken aback by something said in the gentlemen's showers, and my daughter was put off by another when she was trying to swim laps in the lapping area of the pool. Hopefully, the hotel's lifts will operate without hitch, but one lift was out of action for some time and then the second failed during the morning when we and many others were finishing breakfast and about to check out. It was not easy for all of us to carry our luggage down five floors of stairs, but having come up those floors as well, it did provide good exercise. Overall a good hotel in a good location. It is a little pricey possibly but when you compare to the HIE down the road then this is about right.
