5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

just enjoyed our first visit to this hotel.
Excellent freshly prepared breakfast, fantastic location with free parking on the street and even the weather was perfect.
Rooms had real character and lots of history to the house.

Room Tip: great location for city centre with added bonus of free parking

Came to Cardiff to see Bon Jovi. Had a huge welcome from Keith in the stunning reception area. Look out for the chabdalier. Once we checked in, went to our room fuscia pink and green. There were tea and coffee making facilities, trouser press and hairdryer provided. There was a slight problem with the shower but with a spare bathroom available not too much of an issue. Came back after the concert and met one of the Siamese cats. Breakfast the next morning was amazing. We met Norman then. Choice of cereals, fruit juices and teas. Freshly ground coffee was on offer as well. Then a full English breakfast with toast. I could hardly move. Would seriously recommend this value for money hotel and look forward to visiting again in the future.

My friend and I got back today from this lovely quaint hotel; it's quaint in nature, yet, it's a lovely large, old house with Victorian charm; Keith was very friendly, awaited our arrival (two rather excited Bon Jovi fans)!, and we have a lovely comfortable room (9). The decor was bright in pink and green in our bedroom, whilst unusual colours, it was very comfortable with flat screen TV, Tea, Coffee and lovely biscuits too. The hot water didn't work at first, but after leaving the switch on for a length of time, it was really toasty warm. Very little road noise and I found a space easily on the road, just a stone's throw. The breakfast was exceptional with a huge fry up, and beautifully laid out; it was almost too pretty to eat! There were cereal choices too with coffee, tea and juices. I am certainly planning to go again hopefully over the school holidays. The location is about a 15 minutes' walk from either stadium and there are taxis in advance. Would recommend booking a taxi back from the stadiums or just taking your map for the walk back. The whole ambiance was peaceful, friendly and charming. Highly recommended. Chloe.

Room Tip: We were in room 9 which was an L-shaped double bed and a single, with an en-suite shower and toilet.

The location is ideal as its close to the city centre and millennium stadium which is approximately 10 minute walk. We found parking wasn't that great and eventually found a space 5 minutes away not ideal with bags and luggage. We got greeted at the door by Keith who was friendly.

We were in a double en suite room (£60 for the night) The decor was fairly out dated with pink walls and green furniture. But the bed was very comfortable. Only downside was the shower, didn't seem to have any hot water. I needed a blazer ironing but there was no iron only a trouser press.

The breakfast was excellent, could not fault. Norman was friendly and sorted anything you needed.theres a selection of juices and cereal before Norman asked you if you would like anything cooked.

Overall, very good. Just a few niggly things. Would recommend and stay again!

Traditional Guest house, clean and comfortable, on street parking but no problems getting a space, excellent breakfasts. Very convenient for Cricket and Sofia Gardens, walking distance to centre of Cardiff. Good value, will stay again next year.
