It was good fun to see all of the movie sets for real, to hear tales of the filming of doctor who, merlin, torchwood & Sherlock. Matt the guide was wonderful & knowledgeable. I only wish I'd been able to come on one of the more boisterous tours, our group was fairly subdued probably because it was quite cold. Very glad I did this tour d would look at doing more the next time I'm in the UK.

I've taken my kids Doctor Who location spotting in Cardiff before, and we've been to the Doctor Who Experience more than once. This tour outshone all that.

Matt, our guide, was a true Doctor Who fan/geek, and has been an extra on the show six times. His behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes brought this four-hour coach and walking tour to life.

The tour included video footage of each location, and A4 colour photographs so we could picture the actors standing in the spots we visited. We had plenty of time to take photos, and ask questions.

Locations included the building River Song jumped from in The Angels Take Manhattan, the cemetery where Clara stood next to her own gravestone, and where the original Weeping Angels were located, and 'Leadworth' where much of The Eleventh Hour was filmed.

You get a great look at some of the locations where they film Doctor Who all around town, Matt (our guide, not the actor) takes you around most of the city to some of the buildings that you will recognise from the series. He come equipped with clips from the show and ever still shots from each episode to show you how it looked.
Matt has also been an extra on the series a few times and has some very fun stories that he tells while the bus is on the way to the next stop. The tour finishes where it started, in the bay where Matt walks you around some of the many shooting locations there too.
Some of the places you get to see are the homes of many of the characters, the church from Vincent and the Doctor, the graveyard and heaps more.
The day I was there the tour was booked out but if you go to the start point, sometimes some of the people who booked don't come so you may be lucky.

We got to see where the series was filmed and were able to take pictures and recreate some iconic scenes. We went on this tour before going to the Experirnce. We found out that the souvenir book hsd all of the locations listed. So this tour may be unnessesary.

Thanks for your recent review. We are glad you enjoyed the tour. Although the whereabouts of the locations are available elsewhere we find that having a guided bus tour is by far the easiest way to visit locations spread far apart around a city which many people may not be familiar with. Plus you get additional info not ordinarily available from other sources.

Well we booked on a walking tour starting at the Castle and ending in Cardiff Bay (right over Torchwood HQ).

Our guide had been an extra in DW, Merlin and Sherlock so he was able to bring the whole thing to life. The tour itself changes the way you look at the city. The guide had pictures from the sets to show how we saw it on screen against what was in front of us.

He entertained us with stories of the filming and although the tour wasn't short (2.5hours) it went quickly and the odd bunch of random people that we were with all chatted together and seemed to enjoy it.

For the fan this is the best way to have a look around the city. I will never look at it quite the same again.

I booked this before the BBC were doing their version of the walking tour. So I don't know what they have to offer but I didn't regret booking this for us at all. It made the weekend of DW come together cohesively. Helped by us staying at the Park Plaza which seemed to be in the middle of a lot of locations.
