Security were at the door on arrival and very helpful/pleasant. We had a warm welcome and were kindly given a room furthest away from the 'live lounge' so we didn't hear any noise. I made full use of the tea and coffee which I always appreciate. This travel lodge is in a fab location for the centre of Cardiff , although some might find it noisy being in the hub.

We stayed over for one night after having been to see a show in the city centre. Car parking at the nearby NCP cost £22 for overnight which was good as train and taxi costs would have been more.Breakfast is ok - with everything you want....fruit juices, cooked breakfast and croissants etc and toast. I didn't rate the cooked breakfast but what do you want for the money. Our room though basic was absolutely spotless as was the shower/toilet areas.Nice large towels provided. The heating was via an electric heater on the wall but this too was fine....it was so warm we had to switch it off ..on a cold February night. The staff are brilliant...all of them-from reception, to breakfast and to the security on the door at night. For a city centre it was excellent value for what we wanted

Only positive about our Saturday night stay was the low price we paid!
Bathroom smelt of urine, there was sugar over the desk/table from previous occupants and nail clippings in the carpet.
Good nights sleep is non existent as hotel is opposite live lounge which plays VERY loud music until 4am!

Smack in the middle of Queen Street, literally! Close to the train station and buses. Hotel entrance looks sort of seedy but once you've taken the lift to the first floor reception everything changes. Paid £42 for a family room. It was huge, quiet, clean and we had a great night's sleep. We didn't eat in the restaurant as we were seconds away from restaurants and over the road from MacD's for breakfast. Fabulous budget hotel. Highly recommended. Ask for a quiet room otherwise you may get involved in the nightlife of Cardiff!

Just stayed the one night, but we had a lovely nights sleep, the room was very clean and the staff were very helpful, we were in Cardiff for a birthday party so we didn't want to spend too much so this place was perfect.
