“ITALIAN GEM IN CARDIFF”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

We went there on match day for lunch prior to the Wales v Italy match, having booked 2 weeks before. The first things you notice was the friendly greeting from the staff and the buzz in the place. The lunch was really really good. We had home-made pasta dishes with bolognese sauce and warm crusty bread with olive oil. This was followed with the most delicious ice cream and all washed down with some superb Italian white wine. Well done Cafe Citta.

“IF IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR MARCO.”
Reviewed March 6, 2012

Apparently, he was in stuffing his face twice last week, what better recomendation. This is my second visit in as many weeks, and on both occasions I have been crowing about this gem (courtesy of the Guardian). All the food is freshly prepared, so consequently you have to wait but by gum your patience will be rewarded. The food is so good, I am determined to work my way systematically through the menu. I have already wolfed down the bruscheta, aubergine bake, a special that included the best homemade meatballs I have ever tasted, and one of their thin crust pizzas, think fresh dough cooked in an wood fired oven imported from Naples. Have never managed the desert but do have a coffee as it is excellent. The welcome is warm, and could not be more accomodating. The prices eg; two starters, mains, drinks, and coffees £33 excluding service. Miss this at your peril.

“Fantastico!”
Reviewed March 6, 2012

We had one pizza, and one seafood pasta dish to share. You are able to watch the chef making and throwing the pizza dough, and the oven is open within the kitchen area within restaurant.

The red wine was excellent, and very reasonably priced.

Will definately be back !!!

“a perfect italian restaurant”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

This restaurant located just in the city centre is probably the best and most peculiar italian in Cardiff. The pastas, the risotto and the pizzas are just amazing... just book in advance because the place is a bit small.

“Cracking little Italian”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

This is a really good family run Italian restaurant right in the city centre. The menu isn't huge, mainly consisting of antipasti, pastas, a few salads and great pizzas from a wood burning oven.
The prices are very reasonable for town and I'd pick this place over any of the Italian chains near by.
