“Great Food”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

A great busy pub close to our Hotel. The standard of food and the presentation was excellent. It was lovely and warm on a very cold night and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

“Very Good”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

We've visited the Cricketers a few times, but have to say that this venue never disappoints. Very pleasant environment, nice selection of wines and lovely food. We stopped here for lunch today and really enjoyed it. Not cheap, but worth it as the food is excellent quality. Would recommend this venue, especially if your a bit of a "foodie" like me.

Dear AndrewJH

Thank-you for taking the time to write your review and I am happy to read that you keep coming back to us as returning customers is what pays the bills!

We do only use fresh, good quality food and that does reflect in our pricing but I do believe that, whilst not having "Weatherspoon" prices, we offer value for money in terms of the product you get for your £. It's great to see that we still appeal to the "foodies" amongst you after 2 1/2 years of trade so far.

Hope to see you again soon

“Fabulous atmosphere and a great pub”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

Been going here for a few years now with friends and it is my favourite pub in Cardiff. Atmosphere is always great, food is good and the service is hard to fault. There are a good range of beers and the decor is good with a relaxed feel.
It's a great place to be on match day and they also make an effort to try new ideas/events which is to be commended.
It's just a great pub and restaurant.

Dear Roberderoski

Thanks for your great review, it is brilliant to see that our customers respond to our efforts and the hard work that my team put in.

In response to our push on events we hopefully have Cathedral Road Jazz 2013 coming up in June so watch out on our Face Book page and web site or in house for details coming soon!

“average food, friendly service”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

We were very disappointed with the food. We had the fish and triple cooked chips. The fish was OK but the triple cooked chips were soggy and undercooked. definitely not triple cooked at all!!
The mushy peas were watery and flavourless.
For that reason we skipped dessert.
Friendly staff fought.

Dear JosefBarcelona

I am very sorry to learn that you did not enjoy your fish and chips with us last week. I have to say it is one of our best sellers and we get great comments about the dish back from our customers so obviously not enough care was taken to prepare your dish on that occasion.

Please in future tell our "friendly staff" and they can simply exchange your meal for a fresh one with little fuss. It is frustrating to read such comments when it sounds like you did not bring it up with the staff working then. However you feel able to bring it up on line! We always check back on a table after a few minutes of eating to make sure the diner is enjoying and the whole point of this is to make sure we are providing value for your money!

It sounds like you will not be making a return visit to us again and I am sorry for that.
