Visited with some colleagues from France who all enjoyed experiencing some Welsh heritage and culture. Lots of areas were blocked off due to refurbishments taking place and many other areas looked worn and also in need of refurb. Not the quality I remember on my previous visits, for a national facility the quality was lacking.

We went here on 5th April as a family and I have got to say we were really surprised at how good the museum is and even better it is free.

Even though the day we went the weather was a mixture of overcast and wet it still didn't stop us doing everything and enjoying it.

Getting around the park was a little challenging because the signs were in Welsh mainly and we foolishly had not bought a guide book.

All the buildings had information points and these were actually in Welsh and English which was a good bonus. The writing was just the right amount for everyone to read and digest.

All the different staff in the museum were very helpful and pleasant. All were very knowledgeable and were only to keen to advise on any questions asked.

Even though some parts are not open at the moment we still managed to spend an enjoyable 3 - 4 hours there.

Second time of visiting, think you could probably visit this place a dozen times and still not manage to see everything on offer.

Can't believe I'd never been here before last month! Went here on a sunny Sunday afternoon and had a lovely walk around outside and into all of the various buildings. Our favourite bit was the gardens and the manor house. We only spent about 2 hours here because we were also going to Castell Coch the same afternoon but you could certainly spend longer here. It's an interesting way of presenting a museum. Considering its free and just outside of cardiff there's just no excuse not to go if you're in the area, we will definitely be going again.

Hugely impressive outdoor museum, suitable for everyone - young and old. Clear and informative descriptions of each section helped understanding. Make sure to allow plenty of time - there is so much to see!
