“Stunning!!”

Last minute stay at St. Davids, what a place! £130 last minute got us an Executive double, corner view room on the 5th floor. Room was clean and had everything you'd expect from a 5*

Staff were fantastic from David on Reception who sorted us a bottle of champagne for a special occassion. to the barman who kept the bar open early into the morning. nothing too much trouble.

If you're staying in Cardiff, stay here!!

We stayed here for the British Speedway Grand Prix weekend and were really impressed.
Whilst other hotels were charging increased rates for an event weekend, the St Davids was obtainable with just a week's notice at a cheaper rate than many, many inferior City Centre hotels. And we got a free bottle of champage that we were not expecting!
It is impossible to criticise anything really. Staff, service, rooms, Spa and pool were all excellent.
Having stayed in Cardiff on the corresponding weekend for the last seven or eight years and sampled a good cross section of the better hotels in the City, this was by far the best.

Excellent location, lovely rooms (particularly the bay view rooms). We have twice received a complementary upgrade. The staff are charming and helpful, the food excellent. Unlike many hotels we have stayed in, the fact that there was a wedding going on did not adversely affect us at all. Pricey but well worth it

Stayed here last weekend for the 4th time. Booked it last minute and got a pretty good rate.

The good – Really stylish hotel, great rooms, rooms are a good size, very well equipped and lovely views from the balcony. Plenty of tea and coffee in the rooms. Flat screen TVs with lots of channels. The staff (esp. the concierge) were generally helpful. We arrived very early as we were attending an event at the Millennium Stadium but they did let us check into our room which happened to be ready (at 11.30am). The hydrotherapy pools in the spa are generaly pretty good and use of these is complimentary to guests – really nice and relaxing. Fantastic location for exploring Cardiff and the Bay.

The bad – breakfast was average at best. The range of food was actually pretty poor compared to most other 4 and 5 star hotels I’ve been to and it took ages to clear tables. £8 per day for parking – feel this is a big steep especially given how much it costs to stay there – there was no mention of an £8 fee until check out either. Pool area was starting to look a bit shabby, one of the pools didn’t seem that clean to me and the sun loungers looked quite grubby too. There was a wedding reception being hosted there on the Saturday night and the music could be heard in my room (on the 3rd floor). Air con didn’t do much to cool the room – was pretty warm in Cardiff last weekend. No clock in the room.

Overall I still love this place but can’t help but feel that it isn’t as good as it was 3 or 4 years ago (think it is now part of a different chain but not sure) somehow the luxury feel isn’t there any more.

The hotel, was clean and the staff polite, but our room wasnt ready when promised and one of the lifts were out of order. the Super Deluxe King size room, was clean and everything worked ok, nice touches of turning down the bed in the evening and leaving choclates for us was very nice.

Would stay again but not sure i would pay the extra for the SuperDeluxe bit.

The Spa was fine but looked bigger in the pictures.

i have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and on every visit things improve. i would recommend this hotel before any other. I could not ask for more and yet they always seem to provide that little extra that makes all the difference.
