Our 6yr old and us spent a good 2 hours looking and playing with all the exhibits here. It's not very big but all the hands on interaction and understanding how things work takes time to absorb. It does get busy during term time and we were disappointed that the shows weren't accessible to the general public during the week when the schools were back. That being said it was a good mornings entertainment and is great for wet days. If you're going in the week would recommend over lunch time when the schools are all having theirs.

Techniquest had lots of great exhibits. Often at science centres like this there are a lot of the same ideas you've seen before, and some of it was the standard stuff, but they had *lots* that we hadn't seen before. My husband and I kept getting distracted by the exhibits and losing the kids! The music exhibits upstairs were particularly interesting for our children who love making noise and dancing about, like most kids. Techniquest is not huge, but we spent 2 hours looking around and didn't see all of it. Then we had lunch at the cafe to avoid dragging tired children - 1.5 and 4 yrs - around. Big mistake. Don't eat here! Would have been better to put up with whinging while finding somewhere else to eat. That was the only negative, though. Another positive: there are wipes and nappy sacks provided in the baby change room. All in all, a great place.

Totally accessible to all, this hands-on experience is great for old and young alike. Really good fun and educational at the same time - challenges all the 'please do not touch' signs at other museums and exhibitions! During term time there tends to be a lot of school groups going which can be quite overpowering, but plenty for all to do nevertheless. Teaches science facts through demonstration and involvement. Close to amenities including restaurants and St. David's Hotel.
