Car diss museum has an excellent collection ,particularly of French Impressionist paintings. It's worth a visit for that alone but it also has temporary exhibits . On one of our visits there was an exhibition of illustrations made for Dylan Thomas "Under Milk Wood" by Stanley Spencer. The cafe is fairly small ( though probably average ' gallery' size) and the toilets are immaculate.

This place is amazing! I have three young children and they all enjoyed themselves. Best of all this place is free entry!
Plenty of things to see and do here. My boys enjoyed the dinosaurs the best! Staff were very friendly and came to chat to the children. It is also pushchair and wheelchair friendly! Clean facilities!
We will be coming back very soon as theres so much to see.

I have been going here over 44 years, there have been many gaps between my visits . Teenage years then work followed by having my son. Never have I failed to be overwhelmed , now in my later years I truly appreciate the value of having such a wonderful experience on my door step. There is an old saying use it or lose it, I would be devastated to lose such a jewel in the crown of our Capital city. Its free which lets face it is amazing for family's and all. If you haven't been put it on your list and if its been sometime or years since your last visit , go back and enjoy either by your self , family ,friends etc. Staff are so helpful and warm and were great with my 3yr old Grand-daughter , she loved it and didn't want to leave.

Housed in a grand neo classical building, this museum has a lot to grab your attention. I particularly liked the Italian Rennaisance and historic art rooms as well as the natural history exhibition rooms. Tip: park in the car park to the rear then buy an exit disc at the museum shp (£5).

This is well worth a visit as the fixed exhibits and special exhibits are brilliant. There is so much to see and do you could easily spend more than one day here. The food and drinks are good and there is an interesting and well stocked gift shop. Even if you are not that interested in the exhibits, the building itself is beautiful and worth a look anyway!
