Never having been to a stadium the size of the Millenium stadium, I was unsure what to expect when estimated crowds were over 70000.

The operation to get the crowds in and seated appeared to go very smoothly and the staff were clearly used to dealing with larger numbers very efficiently. The huge place was well signed and provided plenty of refreshments and toilet facilities. A slight concern was the slipperyness of the concrete which got wet due to split drink and made descending the very steep stairs a bit of a risk.

Although the result was not what had been hoped for, the experience of the visit was very positive and if back in Cardiff I'd certainly want to go for a proper tour of the whole stadium.

“Excellent venue, shame about the result”

Our first visit to the Millenium stadium - brilliantly organised, everyone was really helpful, and the stewards were friendly and approachable. Seating was clean, and in good condition. We were unable to buy water in a bottle, it had to be in a plastic 'glass' but others managed to buy bottled beer, so I'm not sure what the distinction is between those two. All in all a terrific experience, shame England lost 30-3 to Wales.........

“Not very friendly at all”

Cardiff was a great experience but don't think I'd like to go back there, Twickenham has much more of a "let's see a great rugby match" atmosphere that Cardiff, which was more "let's beat the ..... English coz we hate the bar-stewards" atmosphere. Linda and I were sitting with a group of English supporters and whenever Wales scored we had beer thrown over us. There was fighting in the Stadium toilets and the police had to be brought on the train home to arrest Welsh fans who were fighting, not nice, more like a football match. This sounds like sour grapes but it's not Wales throughly deserved their win and the 6 Nations Title, every Welsh player wanted the ball, every time an English player go the ball the wanted to off load it. Great team, shame about some of the supporters.

“Appalling travel experience”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Visited to see Wales demolish England in Rugby 6 Nations in March 2013. The match was great, super stadium but the day ruined by horrendous rail travel experience. 2 hours after the game finished we had to queue for 1 hour to get a local train to Newport, a 15 minute journey!
I would think very carefully about travelling to Cardiff and the Millennium Stadium again by train. If Cardiff City Council and the WRU want to attract visitors they need to seriously sort the train companies out.
This was really bad experience and a repeat of the situation after the Olympic ladies football match at this stadium last summer.
Poor show Cardiff!!!!!!

“Enjoyable tour into the Dragons Den!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

We went on a day when Wales were playing away to Scotland so the atmosphere was actually very good around Cardiff and this was felt within the walls of the stadium too!
The tour group was small - only 8 and the guide very knowledgeable and friendly.
You get to visit the changing rooms, press room, pitch side and stand then up to the VIP boxes and the Royal box area.

The tour lasted about and hour or so and all of our questions were answered well - Lynn the guide was herself Scottish and came in for a little jovial flack from the Welsh among the tour party!
A thoroughly enjoyable experience and value for money!
