I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel close to the shops in Cardiff Central. I really liked this place. No frills yes but a nice enough restaurant, clean spacious rooms and it was just a few minutes walk from the the shopping areas. Not a direct walk though- you had to go around a housing development but it was still very close.

I must say though it was NOT a reasonable walking distance from the train station with heavy luggage. I don't care what my Iphone said -6 min walk HAH! Perhaps if it was just me and my backpack I would have walked but it was cold and rainy so we took a cab and was very glad we did. For about 6 pounds my daughter and I and her INCREDIBLY heavy suitcase were dropped off in the front of the hotel.

After reading the very enticing menu my daughter wanted to eat at the hotel, I wanted to explore what Cardiff had to offer so we compromised- we had dinner elsewhere and dessert at the hotel. The service was awful and the dessert just ok. We chatted to the people at the table next to us and they really enjoyed their dinner but were also complaining about the table service.

The front staff were really nice and helpful. They called us a cab when we needed to go back to the train station and kept our luggage so we could spend the day exploring until our late train to London.

Room Tip: I was travelling with my adult daughter so we stayed in a "family room" so we'd have s...

Stayed for one night. From booking in to leaving each one of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable and there was extra pillows if you needed them . The bath was very comforable and quick filling. We went to the Thyme restaurant in the hotel. There were a lot of people in the hotel (like us)l that were going to see Mrs Browns boys, but all the bar and restaurant gave excellent service ensuring that each and every hotel guest had everything they needed. The food was of a high standard of which the prices were very reasonable. I will not hesitate to use this hotel again.

We were on the 9th floor room 916 very quiet and very clean, on the first night the kitchen was out of order as the extractor fan had broken down, no probs plenty of places to eat very close bye. The second night kitchen was o k and as normal the food was very good, the centre of Cardiff shopping is very close only 5 to 10 mins walk anyware. Premier Inn i what we have come to expect a great value for money hotel, and very friendly staff. Yes would stay again very good.

Just a stone throw away from the Arena. As with other Premier Inns, the beds are extremely comfy and room decorated to a high standard and spotless clean.

It was my daughter's first time to stay at a Premier Inn and she loved it! We'll definitely go again.

Our stay in this hotel was really great, very nice location and very friendly staff. Rooms are big and comfortable and there was absolutely no noise at all. Services and cleanliness were great. Beds are really comfortable with the right size. It was perfect for a nice time and good sleep. Security is also guaranteed.

Stayed here as I had tickets for an event at the Motorpoint. Rooms clean and tidy, staff very friendly and service whilst staying was excellent. The one drawback was the parking. Whilst you are able to get a discount at the NCP right next to the hotel whilst staying at the Premier Inn (£11) for 24 hours, we stayed at the NCP in Pellette Street, just 300 yards away and only £5 for 24 hours..

Very good value, close to all amenities, very good breakfast, free WiFi and friendly service throughout.
Had to pay £18 o/night parking in multi-storey c/park ....but very close to train station if not using car.
No hesitation in using again.
