Stayed here overnight mid-week in June. The hotel was VERY busy indeed, and is clearly very geared towards corporate conferencing events with what appeared to be 5 different companies present! I had requested an early check-in, and although my room wasn't quite ready at that point, the receptionist kept me fully informed and we actually had a very pleasant chat whilst waiting! Once in the room, which seems to be in a section of the hotel which may not yet have been updated to the new decor (though absolutely not a problem) I was surprised by the amount of space in it. The bathroom was spacious and clean and the shower worked well. The bed was very comfortable and the hospitality tray was well stocked. If I had a slight comment, the window didn't seem to close fully and I thought that the noise from the M4 might disturb my sleep but this was absolutely not the case. Once the curtains were also closed the noise insulation was very good.
Breakfast in the morning was also good with quite a wide selection of food; there is also a Starbucks in the hotel which proved useful.
Overall, a very good hotel and a good option if staying outside of Cardiff City Centre, though a car is definitely recommended for getting to and from this hotel!

Arrived early, room was ready clean and fresh. Reception staff were fantastic, very switched on with local information regarding local busses and taxis into Cardiff and the bay. Able to use all hotel facilities ( didn't have time to use ). Free wifi excellent for looking for things going on around the area. We didn't eat in the evenings here, on the Friday there was a wedding so hotel rather busy however 10 minutes down the road is a Toby Carvery, great food, free desert with voucher from their website. Breakfast at hotel was fantastic fresh and plentiful from cereals toast to full english followed by pastries and croissants, they were a little busy as we had to ask several times for more coffee.
Checkout was at 11 so no rushing in the morning to be out so leisurely breakfast and free complimentary newspaper.
Nice to have star bucks on site if you like coffee.

Stayed at Village Urban Hotel for 2 nights (Saturday and Sunday) whilst visiting family in Whitchurch. Reception friendly and informative (as were all the staff). Room clean large and well decorated. Breakfast was the only meal we had and on both days it was adequate. Quick service from staff and self help grill.(If you stay over Saturday night be prepared for a noisy breakfast as many locals seem to come in or stay overnight with kids.)
For what this hotel is (a sports center and business venue) it does well. Convenient to M4 and not far from Cardiff centre or the Valleys. There are bargains to be had for booking in advance. We paid £109 for 2 people in a Standard King room inc. breakfast which at just over £27.00 per person per night is better than most small B and Bs.
