Although my husband and I had not anticipated a problem withe finding a room for 2 nights in Cardiff two months ahead of our visit, we ended up at Sleeperz Hotel and now we are so happy we did! Turns out it was Scotland/Wales Rugby tournament and we were quite fortunate to have booked ahead. We watched as dozens of people were told "no room at the Inn" just while checking in.

The hotel is modern and offers several levels of accommodations. We were in one of the "compact " rooms. Not much extra space, but very well-designed and comfortable. Storage is at a premium and the bathroom is strangely not very private. (Partial frosted glass door about two feet from the bed) but it has blackout curtains, TV and is in a superb location which more than made up for any minor issues.

The check-in was easy and the incredibly friendly and hard-working staff remember you and your interests. There's a lobby bar, convenient for a late night apertif with comfortable seating and reading material for distraction. The breakfast area is in a glass triangle that provides an interesting view of the city activity, especially all the kilts during this event. The breakfast is buffet style with a nice set of hot and cold options - we love being able to serve ourselves! We added breakfast to our tab for just $6.45 GBP each, but you can get a discount if you order when you make your reservation.

More normal rates for the compact room are around $60 GBP, but since we were there on a sports spectacular weekend, our second night was $145 GBP.

This is a fantastic location, 5 minute walk from the train station, 5 minutes to the Cafe Quarter and maybe 12 minutes colorful walk to Cardiff Castle. No taxis ever!!!

We'll be back.

Room Tip: Only ask for compact rooms if you don't need lots of space. Pretty soundproof even though we were there for a rugby international match!

Stayed two nights with my wife for the wales/ireland international - very good central location, less than 5mins. walk from the stadium & central attractions. The check in went smoothly & the staff were very helpful, the rooms while not the largest were clean & comfortable, but with a lack of storage space. The lounge area is extremely comfortable & welcoming, with an excellently stocked bar & large screen TV- watched England/Scotland game there with a mixture of other fans - very good atmosphere. The breakfast was very good with all you can eat buffet of full cooked or continental choices.Tried it one evening as well, food was good if somewhat limited in choice. The only complaint is a lack of storage space in the rooms,O.K. for a short break but not enough for longer than 2/3 day stay.Would definitely recommend it for a short break.

Stayed here for one night, read reviews beforehand so wasn't sure what to expect but the hotel was easy to find, clean, modern and bright.
The staff on arrival were very friendly and the reception was welcoming, lots of local information and a large selection of magazines and books available to read.
My room was compact but very clean and had lots of storage, extra pillows and towels.
I liked the wet room but would feel a little self conscious if sharing the room as the toilet is only separated from the bed by a glass door. So if you were having a romantic stay it could be a little awkward.
Breakfast was plentiful fresh and tasty with a good selection of hot and cold food.
Overall a great hotel and a pleasant surprise, will definitely stay again.

First time i have stayed in a sleeperz hotel, and I liked it and would stay again. What I liked: central location next to station(but no noise), clean, friendly, modern design, wet room bathroom design, TV, bar was reasonably priced, bed very comfortable, price. Only disadvantage was small room(only 1 stool, no chairs) and bathroom was small.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing road and not the railway.

+ The staff were very friendly and helpful from the day we arrived to the day we left. What caught my eye was the lounge. It was relaxed meeting place for people, more like a living room than a lounge full of actual design furniture. The fireplace was nice (I've always had a soft spot for fireplaces) Our room was small but efficient. It was clean and bed was comfortable. Location is perfect if you want to shop or just hang a round in a pubs or see the castle... Hotel is just around the corner from train station.

- We had some problems with the room door. We complained about it and it worked out well.
