This hostel has the most interesting interior I've ever seen. Who ever their decorator was, they've done a great job to make it quirky & interesting. The rooms are SO clean, so well done to the cleaners and I hope they keep it up. The location is also fantastic and very central.
The rooms were well set out with lots of room for luggage and to relax, so it didn't feel like you were sleeping in a match box. We stayed in a room with an en-suite which was very clean. The one downside was that the shower was SO hot, and because it doesn't have an adjustable temperature, I didn't get a proper shower that evening. Either way, that was only a tiny issue, the rest of the stay was fantastic. I can also say that this is the first & so far only hostel that has provided fruit in their breakfast! Loved it :)

It is in a very central nice location overlooking the river and the stadium. My double room with bathroom was clean and comfortable. I was surprised by the space. It was adequate for my stay. The staff were very helpful. They had difficulty in locating a working TV remote for my TV but the staff sorted it out immediately. You paid a 10 pound deposit which was not a problem for me, this was people apparently steal them. Bed was made up everyday. It was very noisy on the Saturday night as the rooms are above the pub and outside smoking area. Most of the people were not from the hostel but outside people visiting the pub. It did quiten down around midnight. The rest of my 3 nights were not a problem. The kitchen facilities were clean and adequate. The breakfast was simple and good.

Nice location on the river opposite to the stadium but so close that seems you can touch it.
I staid for one night with a friend.

The staff was very very helpful and nice, loads of information. They have a car park but they are so close to the city centre you can walk everywhere but the bay.

The room for four was very clean, but felt cold and very empty, very basic: no chair, not a looker or a under bed cage, not even a hook to hung your staff; just beds, tails and the sink in the room. Bath room clean, mixed, pretty new but even worse, again, not even a hook!

The lounge is nice and colourful, if you can play it there s a guitar you can use and a bar where you can also orders some proper food and where I met a lovely Welsh girl.

Based literally on the doorstep of Millenium stadium and walking distance to Cardiff nightlife.

Can get very noisy at night, I checked in same night as busload of school kids so there was shouting etc well into the early hours.
Reception is however staffed 24hr so hostel is secure with locked onsite parking as well as backpack-sized lockers available.

Rooms were clean, spacious and secure. Kitchen had limited facilities but a pizza oven so all is forgiven! Large bar with free internet as well as seperate breakout area with collection of soafas * comfy beanbags.

Room Tip: For quieter - request back of the hostel. For those on a night out - request rooms 1-10 so you don...

I stayed here for 4 nights, starting on a Friday. The hostel is clean, inexpensive, and ideally located and the staff is unfailingly helpful. But, I had a great deal of trouble sleeping, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Most of the guests were much younger than me and many on the weekend were part of Stag or Hen party groups. As they made their way back to the hostel from late night revelry in the nearby city centre, the loud voices and slamming of doors made sleep difficult. Now, my students who are 35 years younger than me heard none of this. Si, if you are a sound sleeper, this place is ideal. If you need a quiet place to sleep and can afford a bit more for your room, go elsewhere

My only real gripe with the place was how loud it was and the paper thin walls. You could hear mumblings of conversations and every door close in the entire place. Also, the bed and pillows were not comfortable at all. But at the end of a long day walking and exploring, they work. Had a private room and I found it to be very spacious, clean, towels provided, television and drawers. Shower and bathroom were very clean. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Great location as you could walk to the central area very easily! Breakfast was basic but the coffee was good. Overall, good experience, just remember to bring ear plugs!

I stayed in a triple en suite room with 2 friends. The room was spacious, clean and warm with a TV and sofa. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and couldn't do enough to make sure we had all we needed. The continental breakfast was nothing special, but perfectly adequate, and to be honest I think it's the first time I've ever stayed in a hostel that's provided breakfast so it was a bonus! The place has a bar with a nice atmosphere and some quirky artwork on display, but you're also within 10 minutes walk of the city centre bars, clubs and other attractions. We were pleasantly surprised to find they offer free secure car parking which is very unusual for Cardiff city centre accommodation. For the price I really can't fault this place, I've stayed in budget hotels in Cardiff which have been cramped, dingy and lacking in cleanliness, not to mention twice the price! Bear in mind it is a hostel, not a hotel so don't expect luxury, but if you are just looking for a clean and comfortable base for a night or two you can't go wrong here. I will definitely book this place again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
NosDa has the best location for a hostel in the Welsh capital. On the River Taff, NosDa is opposite Wales’ most iconic building, the Millennium Stadium (Cardiff Castle and Cardiff Central Station are just a stone's throw away). NosDa means 'good night' in Welsh and that is exactly what we are promising. We are the only hostel on the River Taff with a licensed bar and not only that, NosDa is an established live music venue too. What better place to stay than a typically Welsh hostel with local bands, Welsh food & drinks, and local artists bringing you closer to the Welsh culture. We regularly organise beer festivals and Open Mic nights, and all Rugby World Cup and 6 Nations games are featured on our big screen. On a match day you can hear the crowd going wild at the Millennium Stadium, that's how close we are! Even though NosDa is one of the largest hostels in Cardiff, it is proud to have the reputation of being friendly and personal with well-travelled international and local staff on hand 24/7. We are also proud to be a member of Europe's Famous Hostels, which stands for quality and great customer service for an unbeatable price. We welcome international backpackers as well as Stag & Hen parties, rugby teams and school groups. NosDa is experienced in group accommodation and offers a variety of room types to suit all needs. We have a great communal kitchen and plenty of common space to chill out, watch TV, read a book or catch up on emails. Meet your fellow travellers whilst tasting some of our local ales and ciders! ... more   less
