Visiting Caerphilly, couldn't resist making a detour to see the Tommy Cooper Statue overlooking the Castle.
One of TV's great funny man from the town.
A fitting statue.

I saw this by chance when walking around the town . It's a huge statue paying homage to the guy who was born here. Pictures say it better !

Tommy Cooper was a Welsh prop comedian and magician born in Caerphilly.

Tommy Cooper statue has a little bunny at its foot, which is super cute to look at. The statue is a great honor to a great Comedian with Caerphilly castle in the background.
Well deserved.

It's great to have a tribute to the funniest of funny people, but unfortunately, this isn't a masterpiece.

You tend to stumble on this after crossing the road from the castle and suddenly realise who it is and wonder why it's there. He was born nearby at Aberbargoed. The likeness is perhaps a bit off however the facial expression comes across well.
