Owner description: This superbly restored gentry manor house is no ordinary heritage attraction. History here is tangible. The costumed servants of the house are living and working in 1645 and allow you to share and engage in their world. Fires crackle, candles flicker and the sounds and smells of domestic life make your visit a memorable experience of the past. It takes a moment to attune your ear to the unfamiliar speech within the Manor itself, but within seconds of your warm welcome you become immersed in the time of the Civil Wars and the cares and concerns of ordinary people living in extraordinary times.

I have been to Llancaiaich Fawr on several occasions, with friends and family. It's an excellent place to visit. Would recommend that you accept the offer to be taken around the House by one of the costumed interpreters. You get far more out of the visit and it really is fun. You're given a snapshot of what life would have been like for the staff, children & family. It offers an experience unlike any other in the area. Great place to take visitors.

“Great attraction!”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

It's a great place to learn about your history with a small walk through Welsh history, with realistic dolls and interactive stories. It's placed around amazing scenery, perfect for weddings! And I would definitely suggest you visit the restaurant inside. Polite staff and care for all your needs! Perfect.

“A day out for all to enjoy”

This is a hidden Gem in Caerphilly, a real living Museum where you allowed to wander around and be treated as if you were of noble importance by the warm and friendly staff who speak to you in the dialect of days gone by. Beautiful gardens, surrounded by green fields, affordable gift shop for every pocket and a reasonable priced cafe serving hot and cold food. Throughout the year they hold many events and yesterday was the Vintage Car rally, and what a show, cars form all era's, small children's fair rides, craft stalls, local brewers and model railway and diecast for sale, something for everyone. Next year we were told will be an even biggger event so one to visit for young and old.
