Great location near our office, where we had got together for a sales meeting, then travelled to the hotel for the night. Lovely location, friendly welcome from reception, where we all got swiftly and uneventfully checked in. Room was spacious & well equipped, with a lovely view of the gardens. We had stayed here once before, but had gone out for dinner. This time we decided to eat in the restaurant as some of our local colleagues had said very good things about the food here.
We met in the bar for a couple of drinks. Very comfortable sofas & good choice of wines by the glass was a good start to the evening. Menus were passed round and everyone was looking forward to the meal as the choices looked well thought out & planned. I can be a bit of a fussy eater in that I don't eat much meat, so choosing a starter from the restaurant menu & a main from the bar menu was the best option for me. All the staff were nice & knowledgable regarding the food & wines. Everyone really enjoyed their food. One of my colleagues is a real foodie & said "someone in that kitchen knows what they are doing!". Praise indeed. Had a great nights sleep & good breakfast in the morning before sadly heading back to the office. Hopefully it won't be as long before we stay again

Open fires in the lounge, beautiful big bathrobes and wine and choccies waiting in the room, outstanding room service (smoked haddock and mushroom risotto probably the best risotto I've ever had). Staff very friendly and accommodating, with the exception of the Friday night barman, but could have been he had an off night. Breakfast also was delicious. The grounds were also beautiful and the views were stunning.

Wow what more can I say! I hosted my 40th birthday celebrations at the hotel and I cant say enough about how amazing the hotel, staff and the food was! I had guests that had travelled from all over and everyone commented on all the above. The canapés where delicious small bite sized burgers followed by a Hogg roast it was wonderful. If anyone is looking for a venue to host a special occasion this is the perfect place. Thank you to everyone at the coed-y-mwstwr hotel.

I would recommend this hotel - I went for a old friend's reception and stayed the night. Decor was lovely and the ambience pleasing with log fires and the like including some nice quirky touches...you get a soft toy dog in each room which acts as your "do not disturb sign" if you leave it outside. Each room was decorated uniquely and proved very comfortable. Staff were discrete, polite and very professional. There was no hint of impatience as the wedding celebrations continued into the wee small hours. Good value too - room was £100 or so incl. an excellent breakfast...not bad for a fine boutique-style hotel in a Georgian Country Pile...albeit one in the sticks.

Room Tip: If you have the time, I'd recommend a drink in the lobby in one of the huge chairs by the fire...

We stayed at the coed this weekend for my brothers wedding. We arrived the night before and had a lovely reception and gorgeous rooms. We stayed in one of the coach house rooms which was huge, beautifully decorated and had a massive bed. We had a comp bottle of wine, chocs and the usual biscuits. Robes and slippers were also included in the room. The fluffy dogs were a lovely touch too as a '"do not disturb".
The wedding was stunning lots of little extras all day and so nice having the hotel to ourselves. Food was gorgeous, very quick service and lovely surroundings. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely return again and recommend to others.

We are glad that you and your family enjoyed staying with us, despite the weather conditions.
The rooms over in the Coach House are beautifully decorated and offer fantastic views of the ground. Each wedding is special to us and the staff are happy to help with the little extras it takes to make any guests stay that more enjoyable. The chefs were delighted to read your feed back on the standard of food you received throughout your stay. The Cysgu dogs are a unique feature here at the Coed-Y-Mwstwr and are an instant welcome for the guests. The team look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Went here for the Jazz Afternoon Tea today on Thursday 20th December. A wet, miserable afternoon but walk through the door and wow. The welcome was second to none, the staff excellent and the afternoon tea selection was massive! The food was actually presented on a round table and you helped yourself, plenty for everyone. (And I mean plenty.) Our waitress was quite anxious that we got to the scones whilst they were still warm. We did. They were. Fabulous.

A lovely selection of sandwiches (crusts cut off of course), wonderful, fabulous cakes and gorgeous scones - 3 types it seemed. All served with jam and clotted cream needless to say. Just as you saw dishes emptying, they were replenished! It was a never ending selection of food with unlimited pots of tea. Tables were laid immaculately, lots of smiling guests and a great festive atmosphere. Staff were attentive and the jazz perfect, not too loud, not too quiet and a festive selection of music. This really did make my Christmas. Thank you so much.

Well done Coed y Mwstwr! I will be back, maybe not tomorrow as I'm still full - but soon. I fancy the sofa by the log fire next....

Thank you for your kind review, the Jazz Afternoon Tea’s are very popular and are quick to sell out. The chefs prepare all the cakes, scones and sandwiches you had fresh for events such as these and they were happy to read that there was plenty to go around. The ‘Jazz Duo’ are fantastic and play at all our major events. All staff members strive towards making every guests experience as enjoyable as possible and we were all happy to ready we had helped to make your Christmas. We very much look forward to your return!
