Busy, with a fairly swift service - this Spanish-style brasserie is okay if you don't mind both the relatively high prices and the very simple cooking. Essentially everything is served with chips or a jacket potato and things are largely either grilled or simply pan-fried. There is no attempt at anything imaginative and in that respect it strikes me as a little old--fashioned (in a slightly negative way). I would eat here again - as long as someone else was paying and I didn't have an invitation elsewhere! Not awful just average.

Visited at lunchtime and was very disappointed! The only reason the atmosphere scores better than a 1 is it was a birthday lunch! Food was substandard and have never been accused of lying and having to pay for a meal i didn't eat! My sister raves about it but I say go next door to the Mackworth if you're just passing by!

Have only ever been here at Lunch times. The lunchtime deals are very good, the food is top notch and the place is always welcoming. I have heard that its a bit pricey in the evenings, but well worth it especially for a special occasion...

We visited on a packed Saturday evening for an 80th birthday celebration and certainly weren't disappointed.
Carlo and his staff made an enjoyable evening, extra special with their attentiveness, as nothing was too much trouble.
Good food and excellent wines usually form the basis of a good night but the little extras made it a night to remember particularly for the new octogenarian who had the 'best birthday ever'.

El Prado serves great food in a fantastic atmosphere. Spanish music to remind you of holiday time, and really friendly and welcoming staff. The only small problem is they only serve bottled water, but quality of food and atmosphere make up for that.
