“Very nice, a little expensive though”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

A very nice restaurant, although the atmosphere is slightly strange, it did not have a cosy restaurant feel. We were recommended for an evening meal.
Nice food and the staff were very friendly. The breakdown of the menu does not really accommodate evening meals, and we ended up ordering to much (our fault I know) which became very expensive.
To be really honest this is an ideal location for a nice lunch outside enjoying the canal and people watching.

Our menu & specials board does very much cater for both lunch time & evening meals.
Many of our dishes are designed for shared eating & I feel on this occasion we did not explain our concept well enough for which I'm sorry.
The restaurant itself is a light open space in a wonderful setting over looking the canal basin.

“Real Welsh Rarebit”
Reviewed July 22, 2014 via mobile

Visited last week for lunch. Sat in the outside seating area in the shade. Lovely surroundings. Different menu - Welsh Rarebit was astonishing. Quite pricey for what it was.

“Delicious food in amazing location”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

We sat outside in the sunshine with glorious views over the Basin, watching the boats come in and out. The menu was simple which included dishes of risotto, welsh rarebit and goats cheese tarts. My mother and I ordered the chicken caesar salad and salmon fishcakes with sides of chunky fries and it was ll superbly tasty. It had some finesse to it and you just knew you were eating good quality food. The chunky fries were presented beautifully in a little silver 'bucket' and were scrumptious and there was no food left on the plates! I had a very nice latte to accompany the meal but there were many people enjoying a glass or two of wine.

The ambience was great on a lovely sunny day and inside it was full too with a lovely mix of young and old enjoying good food and good company.

“Very nice”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon, Cafe was surprisingly quiet. Salmon fish cakes and chicken, mango and avocado salad went down a treat next to the beautiful surroundings of the canal. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, could have lost a few hours here. Only downside the staff seems a little flustered and took a while to acknowledge me and a couple of others waiting to order at the till, and menus were not on show and had to be asked for.

“Beautiful surroundings and pleasant food”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

Came here on Sunday after a tour around Wales and the Brecon Beacons. Stumbled into Brecon and parked behind the Tipple 'n' Tiffin which was just £1 for the whole day.

they have a large seating area outside at the riverside which is absolutely beautiful.

we had a couple of drinks in the early afternoon before we went for a walk around the rest of the village. Later that afternoon we returned to eat and have a couple of more drinks.

the service was good if not a little slow. We ordered the 'chatter platter' (£15) which was a huge slate with many different items on to try. All of which were very nice.

Would certainly return if we were in the area.
