“A fantastic location and beautiful buildings make for a perfect getaway”
Reviewed June 3, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We arrived on a glorious Friday afternoon to milk in the fridge and a cake in every cottage - wonderful! As more and more of the group arrived, they all commented on how fabulous these cottages are. The beauty of Cilwych is individual cottages offering privacy combined with a spacious yet cozy communal living/diner/kitchen.

We're already planning a return visit!

“Gorgeous place for comfort, country and hills for a large group who want both privacy and togetherness”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

This was a simply lovely place to stay over freezing Easter weekend with 13 members of my family. It has a very well equipped main kitchen and large communal living room with long table for the whole party and comfortable sofas and chairs in front of a log fire. We were beautifully warm. The 4 separate cottages are ideal for different families or groups of friends, who could eat breakfast separately if they wanted or go to their own sitting room to watch a different TV channel from the main room or just chill. The beds were very comfortable and could be adapted often as either twin or king size.
The location is in real country with just farm barns and a barely visible farm so we felt we had the place to ourselves and would have loved sitting out in the courtyard or at the tables in the field if it had been above freezing ! The river Usk and Brecon Canal and Llangynidr village (with 2 pubs) are less than a mile away and the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, Talybont and Langorse are all very near.
I'd love to come again in any weather.

“Get away from it all with friends and family”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Great location near Crickhowell above the River Usk on a working farm. Accommodation very spacious with a lovely kitchen and sitting room with open fireplace. Ideal for for a large group of friends or family as you also have separate living accommodation if you want a bit of peace and quiet. An excellent centre for walking in he south Wales mountains and a variety of outdoor pursuits.
For warmer weather there is a large al fresco dining area but as we had snow and howling winds we dined indoors.

“beautiful peaceful location with comfortable accommodation”
Reviewed January 30, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

We stayed at Cilwych cottages during January which meant the already beautiful location was enhanced by the fall of snow on the surrounding mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The configuration of the barns is ideal for a large group, there is a big area within the accommodation for social gathering for meals etc or individual cottages each with its own kitchen and living area if preferred. The central courtyard and garden is a good size for families playing or enjoying a bbq during the warmer months. Area ideal for walkers, cyclists, off road 4 x 4 or just visiting the nearby towns of Brecon, Crickhowell or Hay on Wye. Very relaxing, will definately return.
