We stayed at the lodge for three nights at the end of March 2013. It had snowed the previous night so the location looked stunning with views over the snow capped mountains. Our hosts Bronwyn and Steve gave us a very warm welcome and were very helpful in ensuring we had everything we needed as well as providing advice on where to eat in the evenings.
The room was lovely with en-suite shower etc. and we slept very well in the enormous bed. Breakfast was superb and Bronwyn went out of her way to accommodate anything we needed.
As regards evening meals we would particularly recommend the White Swan at Llanfrynach, five minutes walk away which was very cosy with good beer and the food was excellent. We also tried the Three Horseshoes at Groesfford which was very good.
The Lodge is three miles outside Brecon and you can walk along the canal into Brecon (2 hours easy walk). we tried the "Tiffin and Tipple" for a light lunch which is in the Theatre by the canal basin.
All in all we could not fault our stay and hope to be back soon.More
